We are strengthening the team to become even better at supporting our customers around the globe with top-notch expertise in production of fresh dairy products. We are looking for a highly skilled candidate with expert knowledge of fermented dairy production processes, optimization of production lines and scalability. The role is preferred to be based in Denmark.

Welcome to Applied R&D Fresh Dairy, Technical Support, DK.
You will become part the global Fresh Dairy department in Denmark which is anchored within a larger Fresh Dairy Application organization with teams in France, USA, China and Malaysia. Located in Hoersholm, our team has a global role and collaborates closely with Business development, Marketing, R&D, local application teams, Sales and our customers all over the world. The department in Denmark is composed of 25 highly skilled scientists and technicians, who are divided in two teams with different areas of responsibility – new product development and technical support – yet working closely together.

The Technical support team supports Fresh Dairy customers around the globe with troubleshooting, new product formulation, reformulation of existing products, production line optimization and analysis of customer samples (probiotic cell count, texture, contaminants etc…). The team also develops and produces dairy product prototypes demonstrating the performance of Novonesis culture and enzyme biosolutions. Finally, the team is responsible for food safety.

We are working with customers – directly, and in many cases also in close collaboration with our local Novonesis teams and application labs around the globe.

As global technical support, we have the responsibility of creating technical material, digital support tools, and conduct training for both customers and for our colleagues. In addition to the customer technical support tasks, we also have a role as sparring partners for Production and Business Development around quality of our cultures and enzymes biosolutions.

In this role you’ll make an impact through:
Worldwide Technical support at customer plants with focus on plant setup and production line optimization ensuring optimal performance of Novonesis biosolutions

• Conduct Plant audits (“Texture audits”)
• Design and optimization recommendations to customers in their plants
• Support implementation of new biosolutions in customer plants
• Troubleshooting in customers plants

Responsibility for the Fresh Dairy pilot processes and equipment in the Dairy Application Center in Denmark

• Develop/Optimize equipment and/or processes with the aim of mimicking and/or correlating to industrial setup at customers
• Scout for novel equipment and develop external partnerships to support future trends and growth within Fresh Dairy
• Run trials/training with customers in our Application center
• Develop competences and capabilities within production lines and downstream processing in our Application center
• Develop and define work procedures for production and trials within Fresh dairy applications (Stirred, Drinking, Ambient, Diluted, Separated products etc.) to support Novonesis’ new product development as well as customer support

Support the Fresh dairy pilot processes and equipment development in the Global Application Center in France, Regional Application center in US and China and in the Local Application Centers worldwide in collaboration with the local teams

• Input to definition and design of relevant local pilot setup according to local market needs
• Support implementation and training
• Develop and define work procedures for production and trials for relevant Fresh dairy applications

Worldwide Competence development of Fresh dairy Processes and equipment

• Develop competences and capabilities globally in Novonesis

To succeed you must hold:

• M.Sc./Ph.D., degree in food/dairy/bioscience & technology or equivalent with minimum 10 years’ experience within the dairy/food industry where you have preferably worked with installation and/or optimization of fresh dairy production line
• Deep understanding of dairy science and technology including milk and dairy chemistry, microbiology, and processing
• Skilled in using and maintaining milk and dairy processing equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot in relation to processes, equipment, ingredients, and product formulations
• You are proactive, creative, outspoken, and capable of making things work to ensure progress with a focus on speed, results, and quality. You enjoy working in an international environment and have multicultural understanding
• You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Travelling is expected in relation to support to customers and visits to other Novonesis locations, and could be up to 30-40% of time, depending on worldwide needs. #LI-hybrid
