Platform Engineer for Development Platform

Kamstrup A/S

Do you want to play a key role in optimizing and automating the entire process from build-to-release for our software development teams? Are you ready to pave the way forward for our cloud-native journey? Do you want to help build the future development Platform for a growing green-tech company, where your ideas can have a real impact?

Pave the way for our cloud-native journey
In the position as Platform Engineer, you will be part of developing and optimizing our GitLab SaaS platform, building the highway for great development experience through CI/CD capabilities, all based on DevOps Principles. You will also help explore and comprehend the ever-evolving landscape of modern technology within our field of work, all in all working to automate the entire build-to-release process.

More specifically you will be:

  • Supporting CI/CD golden paths through templating
  • Navigating and implementing parts of the CNCF landscape
  • Helping onboard products and services to the platform
  • Maintaining the GitLab platform runners

Meet your future team
With direct reference to our Head of Platform & Technology, you will join a team working to aid the company in adopting and implementing a DevOps mindset, while treating the platform as a product for our Software and Hardware Developers. In the department, we are driven by lofty ambitions not only when it comes to delivering high quality and secure solutions, but also when it comes to having fun and learning along the way. You will also become part of our cross-organizational Platform Engineering community who seek to share experiences and ways of working to ensure optimal development in both our workflows and the technologies we use.

Did you know? Our team manager lost 10 golf balls on his latest round. Fortunately, it was not into the other team members Koi pond!

Less about us, more about you
We are looking for someone who is highly interested in software development methodology and who loves finding the right solutions and helping co-workers implement them. We imagine that you have a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, combined with some years of experience from a similar position. You might have limited experience with some of the concepts we work with, but it is important that you are able to work in collaboration with others to create successful solutions.

These are the concepts we work with, and experience with them is considered an advantage:

  • Writing software code in general
  • Infrastructure as Code: preferably Terraform and Ansible
  • Programming and scripting: Python, Go, Bash, PS, and .NET
  • CI/CD: Automate release and deployment flows
  • Building and running containers preferably in Kubernetes
  • Monitoring/Observability: Azure Monitor or Prometheus/Tempo/Loki/Grafana

As we are an international organization it is important that you are fluent in English.

We want to support a diverse and inclusive workplace, so while you may not meet all the qualifications listed above, you could still be a good candidate for the position. If you find the role intriguing, do not hesitate to apply.

We are more than an ordinary workplace
We cherish the good colleagueship which we all contribute to, the only limit is your engagement. As we are a big organization you are bound to find one or more colleagues who share the same interest as you. This might be in our board game club, cycle team, during our yearly summer festival, or on the padel court. For example, our Head of System Engineering & IT DK is also our volunteer padel instructor while our Software Test Engineer runs weekly spinning classes.

Besides the best colleagues you could imagine, we also offer:

  • Work life balance through flexible working hours
  • Employee benefits including a healthy canteen, fitness facilities, in-house dental clinic, hairdresser, and a free health clinic
  • An active employee association that fosters a collaborative and supportive workplace community
  • Beneficial health care and insurance package
