IT Security Manager

For the past three years, we have been engaged in an ambitious digital transformation journey, continuing our customer centricity, and transitioning to a product driven enterprise with optimized IT. To help us continue this journey and equip our organization to ensure IT security is embedded in everything we do, we are now searching for an ambitious and experienced IT Security Manager.

The Job
As the IT Security Manager, you will lead our IT Security efforts, reporting to the Head of IT Operations. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver key IT security initiatives, while also providing guidance, sparring, and security consultancy to the broader organization.

The Role
In this position, you will govern Blue Water's security measures and policies, ensuring the protection of the organization's information assets. You will offer leadership and direction to both technical and non-technical teams, managing risks and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of IT Security professionals
• Lead the development and implementation of security policies and procedures
• Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure security is integrated into processes, systems, and platforms
• Manage security incidents and lead investigations to mitigate potential risks
• Provide education and awareness programs across the organization to promote security best practices
• Conduct regular security compliance reviews and risk assessments as part of ongoing IT operations
• Align the organization with relevant security standards and best practices
• Continuously identify security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks, and take proactive steps to mitigate them
• Lead the implementation of NIS2 within IT

Your Background
We prioritize leadership experience over formal education.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and experience:

• Experience managing security in hybrid IT environments
• People management experience
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and environments
• Expertise in managing security risks in a fast-evolving threat landscape
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27002 and NIST CSF
• Skills in navigating security requirements in multinational, cross-functional environments
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships at all levels
• Proficiency in risk management, incident response, and security policy development
• Capability to communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in English (Danish is a plus)

If not a European citizen, you must hold a valid EU residence and working permit.

Practicalities
Blue Water is headquartered in Esbjerg with major offices in Greve, Odense, Taulov and Aarhus. IT business development teams are in Esbjerg, Aarhus and Gdansk. Business Unit leadership is equally distributed across Denmark and the rest of the world.

Location of the role depends on the candidate but will be based in one of our Danish offices, with an expectation of regular presence in Esbjerg.
