Head of Controls & Statutory Accounts

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Head of Controls & Statutory Accounts based in Luxembourg.

About the role
You will be leading the initiatives to develop and strengthen the controls framework applied across Finance, while at the same time being responsible for the continuous improvement and production of the financial statements

You will report directly to the Finance Director.

What you will be doing

Control function

• Set-up and maintain the control framework for the Finance department.
• Develop a metric pack in order to follow application of the framework.
• Set up tools to be used by the other Finance department, regarding logs and gathering information in preparation of the metric pack.
• Responsible for the Working File Assessment initiative.
• Maintain error log and assess sustainability of remediation.
• Suggest good control practice to other Finance department.

Statutory Accounts

• Responsible for production of financial statements for all entities
• Design and implement a next level version of financial statements, CSRD reporting
• Coordinate with Banking Circle group function to deliver group financial statements.
• Primary contact with external auditors.

What we are looking for
To be the right candidate for this position, we expect you to have a demonstrated experience (minimum 10 years) in the financial/banking sector, in a similar role. You hold Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent degree.

• Experience of managing a small team.
• Experience in producing / auditing financial statements
• Expertise with IFRS, LUX GAAP frameworks and Accounting/Finance best practices within the banking/financial industry
• Talent for assessing risk in a process
• Disciplined approach in organising its own deliverables
• Deep analytical thinking
• Highly skilled team manager and a team player with a hands-on approach
• Stress resistant

You have a positive and open mindset with a “I-can-do” attitude and enjoy interacting with your colleagues and stakeholders.

You have strong organizational and project management skills, that enable you to manage multiple priorities, be flexible, and to work up against tight deadlines.

As Banking Circle is an international company it’s a requirement, that you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. If you master other relevant languages, it will be an asset.
