Chip Assembly and Packaging Specialist for Quantum Foundry
Description
Building a next generation foundry for quantum processor manufacturing – We are looking for an expert in assembly and packaging of Quantum Processor Units.
Do you want to be a part of pioneering quantum computing in a world-class quantum ecosystem in the heart of Copenhagen? Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is a newly founded company, owned by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), aimed at developing next generation Quantum Computing Processor technologies.
Our mission is to establish a foundry capable of manufacturing quantum processor units using novel methods that meet the extreme requirements for purity and precision that are needed to bring Quantum Computing to scale.
About us
Our company is part of a vibrant and growing Danish quantum ecosystem, and we collaborate closely with world-leading researchers at Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP www.nqcp.ku.dk) based at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen. The NQCP programme is designed to facilitate and drive research and innovations at multiple levels – from developing quantum processor technologies to solutions for the quantum-classical control and readout interface, and all the way to quantum algorithms and applications.
In close collaboration with NQCP and international partners, we aim to pioneer chip-based fabrication and packaging methods for state-of-the-art quantum processors.
Join our team
We are looking for an expert in assembly and packaging of Quantum Processor Units to join our innovative team of talented and diverse international professionals. The role involves developing novel methods for aligning the qubit plane with various interposer and control plane solutions.
The position requires a strong cross-functional collaboration and teamwork abilities, with the level of responsibility tailored to your experience and background. Joining our team offers opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with leading experts in different quantum computing platforms.
Your main responsibilities and tasks will include:
- Developing and improving novel wafer-scale assembly and packaging methods.
- Coordinating projects and roadmaps with tools and process development teams towards fully packaged QPU’s
- Implementing and improving standards for systems engineering and data logging/analysis concepts.
- Performing tests, troubleshooting, and debugging performance issues.
- Analyzing requirements for assembly and packaging capabilities and estimating risks and yields for new technologies.
Professional and Personal Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
- Master or PhD in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or related.
- 3+ years experience with semiconductor chip fabrication systems, or system integration.
- Preferably experience with Ultra High Vacuum systems and chip assembly and packaging tools such as optical alignment, flip chip bonding, and transfer printing tools.
- Familiarity with system engineering concepts and proficiency in data tracking and analysis methods.
You have several years of experience and want to work at the cutting edge of technology. Your current work may include chip packaging, chip assembly, bonding, flip chip design, FCBGA, SiP, MCM at a semi-conductor or nanofabrication company.
You can see new solutions to problems and are motivated to work with your colleagues on the journey towards making Quantum Foundry Copenhagen one of the leading quantum foundries in the world.
You are driven and self-motivated with a focus on pace and outcomes when you work to develop the best solutions with input from highly skilled colleagues in interdisciplinary fields. Your colleagues would describe you as analytical, structured, and curious. As a team player, your constructive and collaborative workstyle inspires others.
For this position, we do not require previous experience working in quantum. If you are new to quantum, we will train you.
We offer
We strive to be a world leading foundry and offer competitive salaries along with the many benefits of living in Copenhagen – one of the most liveable cities in the world. Benefits also include generous vacation time, health insurance, a pension scheme, and a chance to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.
