Brief Description of Position
As the new OSS Package Manager, you will will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Offshore Substation (OSS) package within an offshore wind farm project in Korea. This includes managing the design, engineering, procurement, construction, transport and installation of the substation, ensuring that all phases of the project meet technical, schedule, and budgetary requirements. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to achieve project objectives.

You will support initiatives including

  • Lead the delivery of the Offshore Substation (OSS) package, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
  • Manage the entire OSS package, from concept design through procurement, fabrication, and installation, including coordination with other project packages (e.g., wind turbines, cables).
  • Provide technical guidance on the design, engineering, and construction of the substation, ensuring adherence to international and Korean standards and regulations.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the OSS package, including technical, commercial, and operational risks. Implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including project partners, government authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor and manage the OSS package budget, ensuring cost control and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
  • Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental standards are met, in line with both local (Korean) and international guidelines.
  • Oversee the procurement process for materials and services, including negotiation and management of contracts with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, and consultants to ensure timely and quality delivery of the OSS package.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and the project leadership team on the status, progress, risks, and financials of the OSS package.

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Have a Degree in Engineering with 7-10 years of relevant project managementexperience in offshore wind, power transmission, or heavy infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale OSS or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects, preferably in the offshore wind sector.
  • Experience in working within the Korean energy sector or familiarity with local regulations and stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management experience with a proven ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Deep understanding of offshore substations, high-voltage systems (HVAC/HVDC), power transmission, and marine construction.
  • Familiarity with Korean offshore wind regulations, as well as relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, DNV GL).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of health, safety, and environmental standards in large infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders and reporting to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical and project issues.
  • Skilled in negotiating contracts and managing procurement processes with suppliers and contractors.
  • Ability to foresee project risks and implement strategies for effective mitigation.
