Volunteer & Project Coordinator (internship)

Are you passionate about volunteering, politics, and social entrepreneurship? We are looking for an intern to assist in the operations of our Global Platform in Aarhus which is centered around Café Mellemfolk and our political campaign groups.

As an intern, you will become a part of our team in Global Platform Aarhus that manage our spaces in Mejlgade 53. The focal point here is our nonprofit café, Café Mellemfolk, built on principles of volunteering, sustainability, and inclusion. We are a small office with 4 part-time employees and around 140 volunteers.

The tasks
Your main task as intern will be to assist in the daily operations of our space as well as upcoming volunteer-led events and projects. This could be activities in relation climate justice, food justice, anti-discrimination or our new collaboration with activists from Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. The task includes:

  • Onboarding new volunteers through our biweekly info meetings together with our HR group.
  • Café operations, including ordering goods to be sold and to help find and develop new products as well as updating our shifts schedule in the café and making sure that we have people on shift at all times.
  • Financial task such as weekly reports, budget monitoring, and product pricing.
  • Event management: this could be concerts, talks, debates and much more.
  • Assisting our different volunteer groups – everything from people engaged in the café to our political groups.

Who are you?
We expect you to have the following:

  • A relevant educational background – anything from business to humanities!
  • Are structured and have organisational skills
  • Have experience with organising and coordinating events.
  • Have experience with working with volunteers
  • Have experience being a volunteer yourself
  • An outgoing and team player mindset as you will be working with and meeting a lot of different people
