  • This role belongs to Global Workplace Projects (GWP) organization which enables future LEGO growth by delivering new production facilities globally. The Cost & Risk Manager will:
  • a) Support the Sr Cost & Risk Manager in the monitoring of the budget and costs involved in the construction and expansion of the new LEGO factory in Virginia.
  • b) Support the Head of Cost & Risk Management in supervising construction related risks and opportunities worldwide (current projects in USA, Mexico, Denmark, Hungary, China and Vietnam).

What your day will look like:
Core Responsibilities for Cost

  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and costs.
  • Monitoring design changes, maintaining change log, updating and maturing of estimates, aligning and challenging GC quantities and rates, establishing provisional sums, developing ‘Client Cost’ budget, cashflow forecasting and contingency management.
  • Active benchmarking to identify cost drivers to provide informed opportunities towards cost optimization and value for money e.g. Value Engineering.
  • Develop commercial knowledge in the pursuit of sustainable projects and measures such as embedded carbon.

Core Responsibilities for Risk

  • Responsible for monitoring commercial risks and opportunities in GWP worldwide. Previous experience with Monte Carlo or other risk management techniques is not required but will be an advantage.
  • Lead meetings/workshops with teams to identify, assess and mitigate risk and opportunities that can materialize in construction projects.
  • Able to develop strategies to mitigate risks or capitalize opportunities.

Core Responsibilities for Cost & Risk

  • Management of commercial reporting using dashboards. Previous experience with Data Science and/or use of Power BI is not required but will be an advantage.
  • Liaison with other internal departments such as procurement, finance, engineering and operations.
  • Engaging with GWP projects teams and external commercial management partner(s) to provide commercial services for individual projects.
  • Contribute to develop and mature commercial knowledge within GWP organization.
  • Able to conduct commercial reviews of projects and analyze the health of a project.
