Head of Landscape & Sustainability
COWI A/S
Do you want to supervise, develop, and engage a team of specialists? Can you think of solutions that support biodiversity, the environment, users, and a sustainable society for the future? Are you a senior landscape architect with discipline and people management experience? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for!
Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
We are looking for a Head of Landscape and Sustainability to represent a diverse team of professionals with different backgrounds, all sharing a high level of specialist knowledge. As part of the Landscape and Sustainability team in the Transportation DK, East department, you will work with around 150 colleagues on a variety of projects. Your role will involve not only contributing as a landscape architect but also setting the direction for landscape and sustainability in the discipline, as well as defining the scope of technical sustainability services for projects. At COWI, we collaborate across disciplines, develop new methods, and constantly seek ways to support the green transition.
On day-to-day basis, you will:
- Support the Head of Engineering in workforce planning, setting clear performance and development targets for your team
- Oversee day-to-day people management, recruitment, onboarding, and staff workload planning
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies using the department's existing competencies
- Ensure employee engagement while promoting a high-performance, inclusive culture
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will:
- Provide technical leadership and guide the design of projects such as climate adaptation, urban development, and infrastructure
- Enhance landscape architecture practices with a focus on biodiversity, sustainability, and accessibility
- Uphold professionalism and mentor junior colleagues
Your competencies are the key to our growth.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways, but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- A degree as a landscape architect or similar in the built environment, with 10+ years of experience.
- Experience with sustainability in projects (e.g. LCAs and similar)
- Comprehensive experience within landscape projects within infrastructure, roads and urban areas.
- Professional proficiency in Danish and English.
