Job Objective
As Line leader, you are responsible for the day-to-day activities of your production line(s) – H&S, quality, food safety, traceability, line performance (output / OEE). By delivering KPI’s for your line you will contribute positively to the Unit performance and towards meeting our Objectives. You and your team will ensure that your line and product is always of the highest standard. Your supervisor and/or shift manager will always be there to support you in your job. It is essential that when your supervisor is off, that you will assume this responsibilty and step into this role.
Key Focus Areas
- KPI’s – output, weight giveaway, waste, downtime, OEE
- Compliance around H&S and Quality standards, policies, and procedures (traceability, stock rotation, product presentation etc.
- Punctuality of your team – attendance & timekeeping (lateness, breaks, early leaving, time away from line etc.)
- Training and development – skills and competencies to help you in this role
- Work to company values – openness, challenge, sense of urgency.
Duties & responsibilities
- Understand OEE and how it helps to address areas of improvement (problem solving)
- Reporting of OEE during the shift
- Keep your area clean and tidy
- Inform your supervisor / shift manager of any urgent issues impacting performance
- Always have a 'can do' attitude and be highly motivated
- Work to ensure the area is running efficiently
- Assist Supervisor on evening shift with running of the dept.
- Step up to Supervisor if the supervisor is off.
- Welfare Training preferred – if not will receive training.
- Be able to make decisions and work on own initiative.
- Ensure all H&S rules & regs are adhered to.
- Adhere to all Welfare Laws and follow strict timelines.
- Attention to detail in relation to Quality.
- Look for ways to improve the area – H&S, Quality and Production.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- A responsible person.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Flexible in working hours.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- Computer literate.
