Are you ready to apply your technical expertise in solar and wind projects to streamline due diligence processes for global renewable energy divestments? Then you might be our new colleague!

European Energy is a green energy company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV), wind farms, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team
You will be part of our M&A and Project Financing team in Søborg HQ, Copenhagen. We currently have 23 committed colleagues and 2 Student Assistants in the team and we are responsible for our project financing and divestment. We lead all project and portfolio divestments and partnerships managing the transaction from origination to execution.

The department is the company’s interface with the financial markets such as investors and creditors, and we develop and maintain long-term relationships and promote competitive processes.

How you will create an impact
As the Senior Technical Due Diligence Manager, you will be at the forefront of accelerating our divestment processes. In this newly created position, you will function as our internal expert advisor on technical matters during the due diligence process. Your deep technical expertise on solar and wind projects and your experience from asset management will be a critical asset, enabling the transaction teams to move faster, smarter, and more independently. By providing immediate, high-quality technical insights, you'll cut down due diligence timelines and streamline our deal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will advise your colleagues on the transaction strategy based on the due diligence questions from investors
  • You will use your deep knowledge of renewable development and asset management to respond to project specific questions on land lease agreements, production performance, offtake etc.
  • You will coordinate technical inputs from the organization and ensure that answers and replies are investor-ready by writing these in the data room
  • You will own and recommend commercial directions to address technical inquiries
  • You will build up a strong internal network in the company and collaborate with the wider technical organization to ensure that internal technical standards are met, from development to EPC, and Asset Management

To thrive in the role we imagine you have the following competencies

  • You have 10 years of relevant experience in technical assessments, commercial and technical asset management, and due diligence within the renewable energy sector, e.g. as an external consultant to the industry
  • You have deep technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies such as solar PV and wind, regulatory frameworks, and project lifecycle stages
  • You enjoy working independently to analyze complex technical matters in due diligence and to present concise findings to the transaction teams
  • You have a detail-oriented and organized approach to work, and you can communicate the technical details to your colleagues and investors
  • You are fully proficient in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are an advantage.

Your expertise and relevant experiences within technical due diligence and transaction processes are more important than your background. As a person, you are thorough, service-minded, and curious.

You can bridge technical knowledge with a strong commercial mindset to execute complex and time-constrained transactions. You can focus in a hectic environment, and you have eyes and ears for details.

You find yourself equally comfortable in in-depth analysis as you do in interpersonal interactions with a broad and diverse organization.

We offer

  • You will get the opportunity to play a critical role in accelerating the divestments of our high-profile renewable energy projects
  • We offer a role at the forefront of the green energy transition by consulting on live transactions with your deep technical RE expertise
  • You will get the chance to bridge your strong technical knowledge with a commercial mindset
  • You will be part of a collaborative work environment with a dedicated and supportive team. We have an entrepreneurial approach to our tasks, with trusted responsibilities
  • We have a truly international environment with 43 nationalities represented across 21 countries
  • We will ensure you get a personalized onboarding experience, with an assigned buddy to help you settle in
  • You will get a chance to contribute directly to the green energy transition, making a meaningful impact on the future
