We are looking for a Senior/Principal electrical system engineer to strengthen our Renewables Engineering team in Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will work with electrical engineering for large-scale projects and serve as either discipline engineer or discipline lead for electrical. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to studies, bids and both FEED and detail engineering projects. About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will be responsible for electrical system design including philosophies and calculations. You will perform design of main switchboards, sub distribution and UPS systems. You will be package responsible engineer (PRE), ensuring follow-up of supplier deliveries and participate in test activities IAT/FAT

Responsibilities and tasks

• Design of single line drawings, block diagrams, layouts, cable schedule and load list
• Short circuit calculations / protection and discrimination coordination study
• Electrical load study and load flow calculations
• Lighting calculations
• Heat trace design and calculations
• Small power design including lighting and socket layouts
• Earthing and lightning design

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree within electrical
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within Oil &Gas projects on the Norwegian continental shelf or the Offshore Wind sector
• Knowledge of DNV and international standards, as many of our projects are outside Norway. Familiarity with Norwegian technical standards is a plus

• Solid understanding of multidisciplinary project environments

• Proactive, open to seeking advice, and eager to share knowledge and experience
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is a plus
