Senior Public Affairs Manager

Milestone Systems

What we do
Milestone Systems develops and sells video management software and analytics used in a variety of industries worldwide, in and beyond security. As the leading provider of data-driven video technology in Europe and the second largest globally, we deliver actionable insights from video data through the perfect combination of cameras, sensors, and our open platform software and analytics — always with a responsible mindset and a people-first approach. At Milestone, we believe that technology should serve people, not the other way around.

About the Role
As a Senior Public Affairs Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving Milestone Systems’ public affairs strategies, collaborating closely with our Public Affairs Manager and external Public Affairs Agency. Together, you will develop and execute initiatives to influence policy and regulation, working with key political and governmental stakeholders to shape an environment that supports our business objectives.

You will leverage your extensive network to advocate for responsible and favorable policies, ensuring Milestone remains at the forefront of technology, digital, and security policy discussions. First and foremost in Denmark and the EU. Secondarily in the US and the UK.

In this role, you will also work closely with the CEO on various high-level engagement initiatives, including organizing and accompanying international trips, with the long-term goal of fully representing Milestone Systems in key political debates and media engagements. As an experienced professional, you will have the opportunity to shape not just external policy but also internal team growth, fostering collaboration and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute public affairs strategies that advance Milestone Systems’ business interests.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with political leaders, governmental agencies, and civil society organizations, particularly within the EU and Denmark and with a secondary focus in the US and the UK.
  • Work with the CEO on high-level public affairs initiatives, including international travel and engagements.
  • Represent Milestone Systems in political debates, regulatory discussions, and media engagements, serving as a key spokesperson for the company.
  • Influence policy development in areas related to technology, digital, and security, ensuring alignment with Milestone’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic counsel on political and regulatory matters affecting the business.
  • Draft and present policy proposals, statements, and briefs that effectively communicate Milestone’s goals.
  • Foster collaboration and team development within the Public Affairs team, helping to grow internal competencies.
  • Monitor and respond to relevant regulatory and legislative developments that may impact Milestone’s operations.
  • Collaborate with our Public Affairs Manager in all the above

About You
You are a respected and influential figure within the political landscape in Brussels and Denmark, with a deep understanding of how to shape regulations and policies to achieve business goals.

You bring significant in-house experience from an international company, ideally within the technology space, and you have a proven track record of representing a company in political debates at the highest levels and engaging with national media.

You understand the importance of collaboration, and you’re eager to work as a cohesive team, supporting and enhancing one another's work.

You are pragmatic when needed, yet persistent when pursuing critical goals, and you maintain a high level of energy, even when navigating slower-moving processes. You thrive in a team-oriented environment and are driven by a desire to collaborate and contribute. Your curiosity, people-first mindset, and excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues, policymakers, and external stakeholders alike. You inspire trust and respect, continually enhancing the capabilities of the team and the organization as a whole.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in public affairs in the EU and Denmark, with US/UK experience being a plus.
  • Senior-level experience working with commercializing in an international company, preferably within the technology sector, with a focus on B2B or B2P (Business-to-Partner).
  • Proven success in shaping policy initiatives and building strong relationships with political stakeholders and coalitions.
  • Strong existing relationships with senior political leaders, government entities, and civil society organizations in the EU and Denmark, particularly in areas related to technology, digital, and security policy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build consensus across diverse groups.
  • Diplomatic, resilient, and able to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and persistence.
  • A team-player with a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Willingness to be based at our headquarters in Brøndby and travel as needed.
