We are looking for a experienced HVAC System Engineer to strengthen our Renewables Engineering team in Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will work with HVAC engineering for large-scale projects and serve as either discipline engineer or discipline lead for HVAC. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to studies, bids and both FEED and detail engineering projects. About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will be responsible for developing the system design philosophy and design basis for HVAC systems, ensuring alignment with functional, control and operational requirements. You will also be in charge of selecting HVAC equipment based on capacity and suitability, while collaborating with vendors to ensure optimal solutions.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Perform airflow calculations based on ventilation requirement and heat emission in rooms
  • Coordinate and follow up of the HVAC system design, ensuring alignment with the area requirements
  • Calculate utility needs for HVAC system to ensure efficient operation
  • Contribute to the development of schematic D&ID drawings using CAD software
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of the HVAC design across the project

Qualifications

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in HVAC engineering, preferably within Oil &Gas projects on the Norwegian continental shelf or the Offshore Wind sector
  • Knowledge of DNV and international standards, as many of our projects are outside Norway. Familiarity with Norwegian technical standards is a plus

Personal qualities

  • Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey ideas clearly across teams
  • Cooperative mindset, with positive attitude toward working in multicultural environment
  • Ability of working independently with a detail-oriented approach, as well as effectively in a team
  • Solid understanding of multidisciplinary project environments
  • Committed to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
  • Proactive, open to seeking advice, and eager to share knowledge and experience
