As a Commercial Operator, you’ll collaborate with our dynamic Operations’ team at our Mumbai office in India. In cooperation with colleagues across Singapore, Copenhagen and Houston, you will have shared regional responsibility for the operation of approximately 90 tanker vessels in all our segments: MR, LR1 and LR2 & IMO 2 tankers – carrying DPP, CPP, chemical, veg/palm oils for a range of different customers.

Your Role: Make an Impact
In this role, you will be part of a high-performing team working to execute daily operations with due consideration to safety, customer focus & satisfaction, voyage optimization and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibiting quick and accurate attention to queries
  • Providing innovative feedback on how to constantly improve the business
  • Participating in various operational and corporate projects
  • Visiting vessels and customers in agreement with your manager

Throughout our business, we do things safely and adhere to procedures, rules, and regulations, industry-wise and not least in strict compliance with any governmental or other official requirements.

Your Profile
We’re looking for a commercial operations professional who thrives in a global, collaborative environment and can bring technical expertise to the team.

To succeed in this role, you bring

  • Experience in operational tanker as owner (liquids), agent, or broker in the tanker market.
  • Relevant shipping education such as a course in Tanker Chartering, Ship Operations and Management, Economics of Sea Transport, Shipping Finance from ICS, is considered a plus but is not mandatory.
  • Freshers are also preferred provided they are interested in pursuing their career in the shipping industry. Courses in International Trade and Logistics, Shipping Business would be preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate clearly
  • Excellent IT Skills, good knowledge of Excel is preferred

Furthermore, we expect that you will be:

  • Able to work flexible hours when work calls for it
  • Comfortable engaging in dialogues and discussions internally and externally to continuously improve performance
  • Following procedures and update systems timely and accurately
  • Motivated when being empowered to make decisions
  • Enthusiastic to travel (3-4 times a year)
  • Comfortable participating in the 24/7 mobile duty divided among the employees in the operation’s team
