Economic Justice Programme Coordinator to Oxfam Denmark

Oxfam IBIS

Oxfam Denmark is looking for a skilled and highly motivated Economic Justice Programme Coordinator to join our international department. Your main role will be managing international development programmes in Africa and Latin America promoting systemic solutions to the growing economic inequality through support to a vibrant civil society that can push for progressive taxation, pro-poor and gender sensitive public services, and an economy that works for the 99% and not just the 1%. As a secondary and smaller component of the job, you will be expected to contribute to fundraising, as well as to Oxfam’s policy and advocacy work in Denmark and globally.
About the team
You will be part of Oxfam Denmark’s Economic Justice & Inclusive Democracies team within the International Programme department. The team supports the design and implementation of civil society advocacy programmes focusing on the intersection between economic, climate and gender justice in Africa, MENA and Latin America. You will collaborate closely with team colleagues and other teams and departments in Oxfam Denmark, Oxfam country and regional offices as well as local and international partner organisations in promoting solutions to the root causes of inequality, poverty and the escalating climate crisis. You will report to the Team Leader for Economic Justice & Inclusive Democracies.

Responsibilities

  • First and foremost, you will contribute to strengthening and deepening Oxfam Denmark’s expertise and profile on agreed areas of intervention within the field of economic inequality and tax justice.
  • Providing technical support to the strategic design and programme cycle management of selected grants focusing on economic inequality, primarily in Africa and Latin America.
  • Contributing to fundraising processes related to relevant calls in collaboration with Oxfam colleagues and partner organisations.
  • Providing professional support and advice to selected programmes on quality implementation and results-oriented advocacy and campaigning, including through travels to Oxfam country offices and partners in relevant countries.
  • Qualifying Oxfam Denmark’s programme work with civil society alliances, movements of youth and women, and with media and investigative journalists.
  • Contributing to policy briefs, data analysis, reports, and media work in relation to economic justice.
  • Supporting international and Danish policy work and programme development.
  • Depending on profile, undertake media responsibility on selected issues.

The exact portfolio of responsibilities will reflect the qualifications of the successful candidate and the priorities of the organisation.
