A 2-years postdoctoral position in polymer synthesis and characterization is available at the Department of Chemistry. The candidate will work closely together with the PI and a PhD student on a project with the objective of studying ion-pairing phenomena in aqueous polyelectrolyte systems.

Responsibilities and qualifications
The main responsibilities will be synthesis of monomers and polyelectrolytes with well-defined molecular weight and molecular composition. Beside this, molecular characterization and initial studies of molecular functionality will be part of the tasks.

  • Candidates should have (or being close to achieving) a PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry or a similar topic.
  • A strong curiosity for structures and functionalities of polyelectrolytes.
  • Experience with relevant characterization methods such as NMR, GPC etc.
  • A strong collaborative mind-set.
  • A desire to interact with chemistry students at different levels.
  • Independence and good communication skills.

In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to:

  • Relevance of background experience.
  • Passion for research and scientific discoveries.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and good communication skills.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 2 years starting from Fabruary 1st 2025 or as soon as possible hereafter.
