We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Governanace Risk and Control- Risk CoE Manager specializing in ESG risk and control. This role is part of the Risk Center of Excellence (CoE) team within Maersk Governance, Risk, and Control (GRC). You will play a crucial role in strengthening our internal control framework by applying the GRC risk methodology, ensuring Maersk delivers comprehensive, accurate, and transparent ESG reporting. You will also be pivotal in driving the development and implementation of a global risk and control framework in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Global Framework: Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including KPI owners, Corporate Sustainability & ESG teams, Accounting and Reporting, and Process Leads, to design and execute Maersk’s global risk and control framework.
- ESG Risk and Control Management: Apply GRC risk methodologies to manage ESG risks and support the integration of ESG criteria across various processes and functions, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work extensively with cross-functional teams across Maersk’s global network, building relationships with departments and stakeholders to align ESG reporting with the overall strategic objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure risk assessments, control designs, and ESG reporting outputs meet Maersk’s high standards.
- Enhance Control Culture: Support the GRC function in fostering a strong control environment and a culture of excellence across the company.
- Operationalize Regulatory Requirements: Translate ESG regulatory requirements into effective, business-friendly controls, processes, and reporting solutions that align with Maersk’s strategic ambitions.
What are we looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Proven experience in risk management, internal controls, ESG compliance, or corporate governance, preferably within a global organization.
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and regulations (e.g., CSRD) and experience in implementing them within complex organizational structures.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and geographies, building and maintaining effective professional networks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
- Proactive and analytical mindset, capable of translating regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
