The position
As one of the Directors in Clinical Operations Diabetes you will lead and develop an engaged and skilled team of approx. 12-16 Clinical Project- and Operations Leaders, Global Trial Managers, and Global Clinical Trial Administrators responsible for planning and conducting clinical trials within several key assets across our development portfolio. You will become part of the Clinical Operation Leadership team reporting to the VP of Clinical Operation Diabetes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Global coordination of several clinical trials within one or more development programmes.
  • Representing Clinical Operations in Global Project Teams incl proactive provision of sound operational strategy that will balance operational- and data needs while considering innovative approaches to accelerate speed of execution. Accountable for accomplishing the clinical trials within program(s)
  • Planning and allocation of the needed resources for a given trial within the clinical programme.
  • As line manager, ensure competency development and performance management by coaching and guiding your team members, setting expectations, and leading the team to success.
  • Lead the implementation of relevant strategies, proactively ensure relevant change management activities, and role model the Novo Nordisk Way.

As senior leader in the team, you are expected to be able to lead strategic organisational and cultural activities within and beyond our organisation. You are also expected to possess the ability to lead, mentor, and coach leaders and peers and to drive globalization where needed and relevant. Moreover, you are expected to actively contribute to the Diabetes Clinical Operation leadership team reporting to the VP

Qualifications To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Life Science.
  • Strong experience and thorough understanding of the strategic- and operational aspects of planning and conducting global clinical trials gained from clinical development roles within the pharma or biotech industry.
  • Experience within and interest in digitalization and innovation activities to drive operational excellence.
  • Previous experience with line management ideally combined with project leadership and the ability to inspire and motivate teams using an organized and structured approach.
  • Experience with mentoring and coaching peers
  • Experience with cross-organisational and global work to collaborate in a project-driven matrix organisation.
  • Change management skills to navigate organisational transformations.
  • Proficient written and oral English.

About the department
Working with trial management in the Diabetes Clinical Operations, you will join a collaborative and dedicated team of approx. 110 members including 7 leaders, on a mission to create better treatments, care and innovation for patients with Diabetes.

Here, you will help us deliver innovative products and driving improved patient outcomes as you take on the overall responsibility for the planning and execution of global clinical trials in Phases 1-4. You will also play an active role in transformational projects across the organisation. By contributing to our shared mindset of collaboration and curiosity, you bring innovation to our clinical trials and pave the way for the success of our mission.
