Principal Consultant - Signalling Position Overview: As the Principal Consultant - Signalling, About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Signalling Engineer with extensive CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) experience to join our Independent Certification & Verification team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safety, integrity, and performance of signalling systems across various rail projects. You will work with cutting-edge technologies while upholding industry standards in a dynamic and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities: • Lead signalling projects with a focus on CBTC or ETCS systems, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards (CENELEC, RISSB, etc). • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including concept design, detailed design, systems integration, and V&V activities. • • • Manage and negotiate contracts with contractors and external stakeholders. Apply a risk-based approach to conduct to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure the seamless delivery of large-scale rail projects. • • Deliver technical documentation and ensure that design and implementation meet project requirements and client expectations. Participate in the development of the business by being involved in tendering activities and being aware of opportunities in Western Australia. Skills and Experience: • • Extensive experience in Project Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Safety Assurance. Strong background in signalling systems, including hands-on experience with CBTC, CBTS, and ERTMS/ETCS. • Proven ability in Design Engineering, Systems Integration, Verification and Validation (V&V), and Commissioning. • Previous experience in Contractors Management, Contract Negotiation, and Risk Management. Qualifications: • • • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline. Minimum 10+ years of experience in the rail industry with a focus on signalling systems, CBTC, and telecommunications. Proven track record of leading large, complex rail projects in Australia or internationally. • • Proven experience in applying CENELEC, RISSB, or equivalent safety standards Preferred Experience: Experience working with major rail and infrastructure projects, including roles in project leadership and engineering management.
