Do you have an interest in payroll and a desire to make a real impact? Are you a specialist who excels at traditional payroll tasks but is also excited about the opportunity to be part of process development, task simplification, and system implementations? Then join us at COWI and take your career to the next level.

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll not only handle essential tasks but also have the chance to influence and shape how we work. You’ll bring your expertise into a forward-thinking environment that embraces innovation and is committed to making processes more efficient and effective.

We are a team of 20, with half of us based at our head office in Lyngby and the rest working from various locations. Good cooperation is at the heart of what we do—we inspire and support one another to be better, creating an environment that thrives on teamwork, innovation, and shared growth.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by ensuring full compliance with local, state, and other payroll regulations.
  • Address and provide support to employees with any salary related queries.
  • Contribute to ongoing payroll improvements, including process development & optimization and system updates.
  • Extend guidance on time registration within vacation and sickness.
  • Perform full reconciliations of salary accounts, ensuring all payroll transactions are accurate and accounted for.
  • Be responsible for vacation settlement of terminated employees.
  • Manage pension contributions and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and employee agreements.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
The first step to growth in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you have:

  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting, etc. with 4 or more years of relevant experience in end-to-end payroll processing and administration.
  • Proven background in working with numbers and the ability to perform detailed analysis to make improvements in payroll operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with payroll softwares and openness to explore new tools.
  • A clear commitment to accuracy, with the ability to deliver data with great care and attention.
  • Eager to find ways to simplify and improve processes through automation and innovation.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and any of the Scandinavian language.
