Are you passionate about Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) processes and about always securing the best product quality, reliability and performance? And do you have a background within HW testing or an ambition to be skilled in this area? Then you might be the right person to join Clayton Power in Odense as their new EVT Test Engineer.
Clayton Power is a leading innovator in mobile power solutions. With a commitment to sustainability and efficiency, they design and manufacture high-quality lithium battery systems, power electronics and power management solutions for a variety of applications, including marine, automotive, industrial and off-grid power systems.
Your role
As Clayton Power’s new EVT Test Engineer you will be responsible for leading and executing the Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) processes to ensure product quality, reliability and performance. There are two core areas of responsibility: product testing of new designs, and product testing, change management and reimplementation in the production of already implemented products in the active product portfolio.
You will also play a central role in filling the gap between customer support, production and the Research and Development team there, by bridging the knowledge exchange around the HW testing processes and the importance of the total delivery across these functions.
The position is newly created, which means that you will have the opportunity to shape and influence your own area of responsibility and grow into a key employee in the organization.
You will report to the CTO of the company, and you will work from Clayton Power’s HQ in Odense.
You can look forward to the following main tasks and key responsibilities:
- Test Planning and Execution:
- Execute test plans, test cases and protocols for EVT stages. (Test plans, etc., are defined elsewhere.)
- Conduct functional, performance, stress, environmental and reliability tests on hardware products.
- Document and maintain testing methodologies, standards and results.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Collaborate with product development teams to provide input on design improvements based on test results.
- Work closely with hardware, mechanical and firmware teams to identify and resolve issues early in the product development lifecycle.
- Communicate test results and recommendations through detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Communicate with external stakeholders, such as key suppliers.
- Work in Jira.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously improve testing processes, tools and methods to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
- Propose innovative solutions for improving test accuracy, efficiency and automation.
Your profile
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you will possess the following qualifications:
- Preferably a technical educational background with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
- Preferably +2 years of experience in test engineering or validation, particularly within EVT stages.
- It will be an advantage if you have experience with test automation, data acquisition systems and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, environmental chambers, etc., as well as proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Python or Excel).
- Familiarity with industry standards for product testing, reliability and compliance (e.g. MIL-STD, IPC, ISO).
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Danish skills will be an advantage.
The above-mentioned qualifications are important, but key to being a success in this role is your change management mindset and attitude.
Your personality is also very important, and to succeed in this position you must first possess a self-motivating mindset with a high drive, take on responsibility and show execution power. You possess a natural technical curiosity, with the ability to identify solutions and suggestions for process and structure optimizations. You have the ability to prioritize according to your sense of urgency and are persistent, thorough and detailed when it comes to routine tasks. Furthermore, you are outward-reaching' and communicative, and you can build bridges between functions and teams.
Why join Clayton Power?
In this role you will hold a key position in an international growth company, where the opportunities are many and where you will get your own area of responsibility, with personal development and empowerment in your role.
