We are looking for an Engineering for Procurement Manager to join our Renewables Engineering team at Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will manage the technical aspects of equipment procurement packages, ensuring they meet project requirements and are delivered on schedule. You will collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to ensure high-quality procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle. About the position
As a member of Aibel's team, you will oversee the specification, evaluation, and follow-up of equipment procurement packages. Your key tasks will include working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical requisitions meet project standards, while maintaining a focus on cost-effective and sustainable solutions. You will help ensure that procurement activities align with the overall execution strategy and milestones of the project.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Lead the technical specifications and evaluations for equipment procurement packages, primarily for HVDC platforms, EPC projects, and occasionally bids and studies
- Ensure that vendor information is identified, communicated, and available to progress work
- Define, budget, schedule, and coordinate all activities within the procurement process
- Approve technical requisitions and ensure timely issuance of purchase orders
- Collaborate closely with project teams and external vendors to meet project milestones
- Participate in HAZOPs, external reviews, and design verifications
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and assess risks related to procurement activities
Qualifications
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience working on oil and gas or offshore wind projects, particularly in procurement and technical evaluations
- Strong experience managing procurement packages, with a focus on equipment for HVDC platforms and large EPC projects
- A background in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
- Hands-on involvement in the development of requisitions, vendor follow-up, and technical evaluations
- Familiarity with HSE principles and risk assessment in procurement
- Knowledge of international standards, especially in offshore wind and HVDC-related projects
- Experience in leading design verification and participating in external reviews like HAZOPs

- Fluent in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is a plus
