Postdoc in Physics-Informed and Data-Driven Structural Health Monitoring of Offshore Energy Infrastructures - DTU Construct

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU)

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoc to join a cross-disciplinary project focused on the development of a rapid, cost-effective, and robust structural health monitoring system for offshore infrastructures.
DTU Construct are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoc to join a cross-disciplinary project focused on the development of a rapid, cost-effective, and robust structural health monitoring system for offshore energy infrastructures. The project, which is funded by the Villum Foundation, addresses the challenges posed by the hostile environments and remoteness of offshore structures, where current health assessment schemes are limited in scope and effectiveness. By combining physics-based models, machine learning techniques, and vibration sensor data, you will contribute to pioneering solutions that minimize costs and data requirements while ensuring reliable health assessment across clusters of offshore structures.

Responsibilities and qualifications
You should have experience in physics-based modelling of structures as well as linear and nonlinear structural dynamics. Experience in joint input-state estimation techniques and wave-induced loads will be considered as additional qualifications critical for the successful conduction of the required research work. A candidate with such a profile and qualifications will support the development of cutting-edge solutions that reduce costs and data requirements while ensuring reliable health assessments across clusters of structures. You will join a cross-disciplinary research team consisting of experts in structural health monitoring, machine learning and optimization.

As a formal qualification, the candidate must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
