Trainee Cost Controller

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Cost Controller / Finance Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in cost control and finance within a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will report to the Cost Control Team Lead and work across the RIG and Transitional Energies divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support cost control processes for various projects, including tracking, reporting, and analysing costs.
- Assist with internal and external cost control reporting.
- Manage timesheets, time writing, and other time-related documentation.
- Utilize our ERP system (IFS) for project tracking and reporting (experience with IFS or other ERP systems is beneficial).
- Perform general finance and operational administrative tasks as required.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with invoice processing, purchase orders, and expense tracking.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a finance-related role is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience with ERP systems (IFS experience is a plus).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Work Environment:
- This is a hybrid role, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, based in either Invergordon or Aberdeen.
