Trainee Cost Controller

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Cost Controller / Finance Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in cost control and finance within a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will report to the Cost Control Team Lead and work across the RIG and Transitional Energies divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support cost control processes for various projects, including tracking, reporting, and analysing costs.
  • Assist with internal and external cost control reporting.
  • Manage timesheets, time writing, and other time-related documentation.
  • Utilize our ERP system (IFS) for project tracking and reporting (experience with IFS or other ERP systems is beneficial).
  • Perform general finance and operational administrative tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with invoice processing, purchase orders, and expense tracking.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a finance-related role is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with ERP systems (IFS experience is a plus).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Work Environment:
  • This is a hybrid role, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, based in either Invergordon or Aberdeen.
