We are looking for an experienced Project Vice President who is ready to shape and to assume global responsibility and take the leadership to establish a new FEED Department (Front-End-Engineering Design) to support the complex and very large CAPEX projects in Novo Nordisk Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Investment Program.

The position
As Project Vice President (PVP), FEED You will be establishing an appropriate organization for Front-End-Engineering Design and set direction for a team of approx. 20 colleagues, and you will be reporting to the Senior Vice President API Expansion and be member of the API Expansion leadership team. Furthermore, you will among other be presenting to Novo Nordisk Investment Portfolio Group – which is the highest governance forum that oversee, make decision, and set priorities for the entire Novo Nordisk Investment Portfolio.
The Project Vice President (PVP) develops and leads this new strategic area within Product Supply, Quality & IT (PSQIT) API Expansions responsible for Front-End-Engineering Design. The API FEED team engages when project ideas mature (Gate 0 to Gate 1) and drive them until execution start and handover (Gate 3), which includes conceptual design, basic design, and detail design.
The role is responsible for critical projects and will be dealing with high complexity and high attention from Executive Management, the entire organization, and from the public as the projects are of vital importance for Novo Nordisk to meet future demands and delivery to patients. This requires exceptional stakeholder management skills and constructive communication skills.
The Project Vice President continuously stays on top of key projects’ performance and progress, as well as new trends/technologies across PSQIT with potential value creation in relevant projects.
The position is a worldwide position in the building of new facilities globally. Currently most activities in Denmark and USA. Supplier involvement is global.
The position is placed in Kalundborg, Denmark.
Qualifications
The job requires a very high degree of independence. Experience from large international Engineering API projects in the pharmaceutical industry is a requirement for coordinating efforts and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, for this role it is important to be equally experienced in the execution of large engineering pharmaceutical projects as well as experienced with front-end-engineering design.
You hold a MSc or BSc in Engineering, 20 years of experience in successful international project management and line management and working with senior management teams in large pharmaceutical organisations and as such naturally well established and comfortable in GMP environments.
Understanding, meeting, and managing API Management and others’ expectations requires proactive, strategic communication, ability to foresee and act on issues, and initiatives. You can communicate in an impactful, engaging manner that motivate and inspire, and you turn presentations and discussions with senior stakeholders into constructive dialogues.
The Project Vice President must be an excellent project manager, a coach, and an inspiring leader who build strong high-performance teams in line with the Novo Nordisk Way and the company’s vision and values. As a leader you have a global mindset and appreciates and understands the business benefit of individual differences and deals effectively with people from diverse professional, cultural and geographical backgrounds

Fluency in English, verbal and written, is a must.

The new facilities will be automated and include state-of-the-art new production technologies build on sustainable principles to support the circular for zero strategy of Novo Nordisk.
