DFDS collaborates with Copenhagen Business School to offer internships for students from the BSc International Shipping and Trade program. Joining DFDS as an intern opens the door to an exciting learning journey where you’ll get the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally in a dynamic, international transport and logistics company.

Internship - Procurement Technology, Sustainability & Operations
In the Procurement Technology, Sustainability & Operations team, we are providing the foundation for an efficient and effective execution of strategic and operational procurement processes.

Procurement Technology is about ensuring that we have the right tools and processes for driving value out of our supply chains through spend and contract management, e-sourcing and other novel platforms seeking to leverage new opportunities.

Sustainable Procurement is responsible for evaluating our supplier base from an ESG perspective and ensuring that sustainability is part of our strategic decision making. Furthermore, Sustainable Procurement is responsible for Scope 3 GHG accounting and driving our supply base towards renewable energy usage.

Procurement Operations is responsible for supporting our fleet of RoRo and RoPax vessels with purchasing the goods and services they need, ensuring the usage of existing contracts, making the best deals in the most efficient way.

Depending on your area of interest and our needs, you’ll be involved in projects that will give you in-depth and hands-on experience in technology, sustainability and operations. Throughout your journey with us, you’ll get opportunity to grow and make a difference for procurement and the stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities could involve:

  • Investigate new procurement technologies and platforms e.g. AI
  • Initiate dialogue with suppliers regarding ESG initiatives
  • Work on automating business processes and establishing supplier integrations
  • Change management activities
  • Business improvement projects and coordination
  • Support to Category Manager and Sourcing Manager in e-sourcing and e-auction strategy

About you

Furthermore, you are:

  • Studying a BSc in International Shipping and Trade at Copenhagen Business School and are ready for an internship from September 2025
  • Structured and keeping things on track when tackling new tasks
  • A natural problem solver, when working individually and in a team
  • Detail-oriented and ensure data accuracy in your work
  • Confident using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
