Part-time lecturer in Railway Design and Maintenance - DTU Sustain

We are looking for an experienced lecturer to teach some aspects of an existing MSc-level course: Railway Design and Maintenance.
The Geotechnics and Geology Section at DTU Sustain delivers a Railway Design and Maintenance course. This is an MSc-level course given every spring semester at a capacity of 10 ECTS points. It is taught in English at Lyngby Campus by a team of industry experts. We are looking for an experienced lecturer to cover topics related to geometric track design.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The job entails:
- Preparing and delivering physical lectures;
- Preparing and sharing teaching materials with the students;
- Preparing assignments and exams;
- Grading student assignments and exams;
- Updating and refining the course content and description on a yearly basis; and
- Enabling ‘office hours’ to meet with individual students.
Your qualifications should consist of a rail-related engineering degree and teaching experience in a university environment; practical work experience within the Danish railway industry is an advantage.
Applicants for the post of part-time lecturer must have a master’s degree, as well as additional qualifications at a high level, for example, particular areas of specialisation, expertise or practical experience achieved through employment involving practical application of the discipline. Teaching qualifications form part of the basis of the assessment.
Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to the ability to teach and communicate clearly.
You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria: (i) teaching experience, (ii) capacity to work well in a team, and (iii) presentation skills.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement for part-time lecturers at universities and other institutions.
The period of employment is open-ended (i.e., a time-unlimited contract).
The preferred starting date is January 1 (2025) or as soon as possible thereafter.
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
