We are searching for an AI Compliance Officer

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, Poland, and you will join our newly establish AI hub. The AI hub is a centralized support unit in charge of anchoring AI exploration, legislation and user adoption. The AI Compliance Officer role will be supporting our organization as 1st line compliance officer so that AI solutions implemented or integrated will comply with applicable legal frameworks, including GDPR and the EU AI Act. This role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies, data protection laws, and ethical considerations in AI deployment and will be working withing a multi-tiered risk management framework. Joining the AI hub will ensure a work day with other passionate employees within AI.

At BEC, we work in a hybrid remote model, coming into the office 3 days a week and working remotely for 2 days.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

  • Assess AI solutions and support on legal and regulatory issues, e.g. from EU AI act or other relevant legislation
  • Ownership of BECs AI policy and be the driver for implementing EU AI act in BECs processes
  • Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, and update compliance policies accordingly
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical AI use within the organization
  • Close collaboration with other AI Hub resources e.g. about technical solutions, data management and user adoption

To succeed you will have:

  • Proven experience in compliance roles, particularly in technology or data protection sectors and specifically experience with the GDPR legislation
  • The ability to understand legislation, and use the knowledge to guide on how solutions can be formed within the frames of legislation
  • Experienced in managing risk in new field and being prepared to actively guide compliance activities
  • Experience working in an organization with a multi-tiered line of defense risk model
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Compliance or a related field
  • Strong background in providing legal support and advisory services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • A can-do attitude and proactive approach to solving tasks

It’s nice-to-have:

  • Strong understanding of AI principles and methodologies
  • Detailed knowledge and training for EU AI act
  • Experience with other legislation or guidelines relevant for using AI systems, e.g. NIS2 directive, Danish FSA guidelines etc.
  • A desire to learn new things, and teach this to others, especially within Danish national -and financial regulations
