A Day in the Life

In the Pricing Strategy team, we support and guide the Operating Units and develop competitive compliant offers, ensuring all offers and prices are in line with the Operating Units pricing strategy. We are a dynamic and diverse team with a high level of responsibility with many different work tasks - each day is different, and we work strategically and operationally. Each contract we manage is unique; we work across operational units, with various requirements and many stakeholders both inside and outside the company. The environment is fast-paced, and it is easy to get passionate about the job. We play a central role within Medtronic and find it rewarding to get concrete output, especially on the tenders that we submit where we see immediate results of our efforts.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Work with Operating Units and Central Pricing upon new product launches to setup all applicable price points (Targets, Approval levels) based on the value proposition of the product
- Work with Medtronic’s product portfolio from a pricing perspective to support the Operating Unit in product assessment for a tender/contract and to ensure leverage of the full portfolio and facilitate the correct level of pricing
- Run the tender, product & pricing strategy from pre-tender to end results working closely with the Operation Unit
- Perform Financial Award Impact Analysis and evaluation on Medtronic's Competitors
- Analyse Product mix, volume and revenue based on tender to optimize revenue share
- Work with business finance analysts to incorporate any new pricing decisions into revenue and margin forecasts
- Review yearly Target and Approval Level (TAPS) to implement the strategy in Vendavo
- Manage contracts and conduct compliance reports
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 3-5 years of work experience in a Commercial, Pricing or Finance Role
- Experience of tender processes and strong commercial and business acumen, within some of the following: articulating principles of Marketing, market research (pricing/competitor), Finance (sales forecasts, CGS, P&L), Commercial Operations (tender processes and systems) and Value
- Excellent communication skills in one of the Nordic languages (except Finnish) and English
- Proven project management skills including planning, prioritizing and setting goals
- Experience of taking information from multiple sources and synthesizing conclusions
- Ability to communicate complex subjects in a simple way and to present information in a variety of forms, including documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and diagrams for both functions and sales audiences
- Highly developed interpersonal, networking and communication skills and an ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesShowing resilience and having the ability to manage uncertainty and make decision with partial information would be welcome .Ability to and be a positive team player is highly valued as is previous experience from the medical device industry. Additional degree or certification in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance is a plus.
