Senior Network Planning Manager - Landside Transportation

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in transforming network planning strategies at a global scale? Join us as a Senior Network Planning Manager for our Landside Transportation business and build the network design capabilities globally. This is not a people management role but offers global exposure, providing a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Maersk’s entire ecosystem and shape how we operate on a global level.

You will lead the Global Network Planning charter for the Landside Transportation, responsible for establishing the network design capabilities for the inland intermodal transportation network. Your expertise will be the cornerstone of our network planning product, driving excellence and fostering collaboration across various geographical regions as you work to design, build, and iterate the network design product.

Key responsibilities

  • Design Network Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for the global inland network across different transportation modes, ensuring efficient and sustainable logistics solutions.
  • Define Product Roadmap: Create and communicate a strategic product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs. Ensure these plans are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Regional Teams to Gather Customer Feedback: Work closely with regional teams to understand customer feedback and needs. Use this insight to inform product development and enhancements, ensuring our offerings meet the diverse needs of our global customer base.
  • Sets direction on required service levels to our customers striking right balance between delivery reliability, speed, carbon and cost, thereby contribute to landside product definition
  • Procurement Guidance: Guide procurement on capacity planning and supplier development
  • Monitor and Define Key Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure network planning success. Use these metrics to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Continuously Manage and Optimize Products Post-Launch: Monitor product performance after launch, using internal customer feedback and data analytics to make necessary adjustments and improvements. Strive to keep products relevant and valuable for our internal customers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Transportation Network Planning: Strong understanding of network design principles, with a focus on optimizing routes, reducing transit times, and enhancing overall network efficiency.
  • Customer-Obsessed: Demonstrated experience in delivering elegant and effective solutions to real user problems. A strong focus on understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • Data-Driven and Goal-Oriented: Skilled in using data and experimentation to guide your team towards achieving the vision. Ability to make informed decisions based on solid data analysis.
  • Proven Ability to Manage and Communicate with Stakeholders: Experience in effectively managing and communicating with stakeholders across both business and technology sectors. Ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Visible Drive and a Can-Do Attitude: A proactive and positive approach to challenges, with a strong desire to achieve results and inspire your team.
  • Excellent Communicator: Ability to clearly and concisely convey information to diverse audiences, both in writing and verbally.
