Global Platform & Programme Manager

This position is divided between the International Programme and Partnership team (IPP) and Global Platform team in ActionAid Denmarks International Department. The position is partly a Programme Manager position for two to three AADK partner countries under the current Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) with DANIDA and partly part of the Global Platform Secretariat which AADK is leading on behalf of the federation (see more on www.Globalplatforms.org).
This role will therefore both be directly supporting the programme implementation as well as supporting the network of Global Platforms spaces across more than 30 countries, supporting youth led activism, capacity support and campaigning. For the Global Platform role, focus will be on knowledge management and structured support to new Global Platforms and collegues joining the network, systematizing and package support functions and materials as well as PMEL functions to monitor and gather impact for improvement of systems and support materials of the Global Secretariat.
The programme management role has a strong focus on quality and overview of interventions maintaining good partnership as well as compliance.
The position will be joining the two teams in the international department and collaborate with global colleagues based all around the world, to meet AADKs ambitions for youth led change in close partnership with ActionAid and local partners.
Primary role in IPP: Maintain the direct contact, communication and coordination with ActionAid partners including coordination internally with specifically other teams in AADK. The position is responsible for maintaining the quality and overview of interventions, financial management and compliance of country programmes and projects incl. adaptation of programmes to the context, context analysis following the political, economic and social development in partnership countries.
Tasks:
- Continuous and frequent contact and dialogue with ActionAid partners and the go-to persons for both internal and external use including internal coordination with relevant teams in AADK and AA International.
- Coordinate the continued development of country programmes in close collaboration with partners and across AADK teams/clusters.
- Stay informed and updated on country context (political, economic, social) of the countries of responsibility.
- Provide technical inputs to thematic programmes (country and global levels) and other relevant papers.
- Coordinate and provide technical input into the development of annual plans and budgets.
- Ensure disbursements of funds to partners.
- Contribute to fundraising processes in close collaboration with colleagues and partners.
- Maintain a close monitoring of the implementation of programmes in countries.
- Grants administration, incl. ensuring quality input to Danida reporting.
- Coordination of country reviews, which include a strong learning and accountability focus.
- Support partners in developing new project or programme proposals.
- Some media work can be expected.
Primary Role in the Global Platform Secretariat: Support and coordinate materials and processes in the GP secretariat, with a focus on knowledge materials management and distribution in the network. This includes allignment and coordination of induction processes and validated adjustments of documents and processes in the GP and P4C programme implementation. Further to this the role will also be be coordinating the ongoing monitoring, evaluation support to partners and coordinate PMEL functions and tasks in the secretariat.
Tasks:
Global Platform knowledge and material management with focus on GP initiation support
- Manage and coordinate available resources in the GP secretariat supporting GP implementation
- Validate and organize a standard, operational GP start-up process (in mutual languages)
- Coordinate across the GP secretariat for thorough induction programs and onboarding programs for new GPs and staff in the network
- Resource management and development/ongoing update of GP materials and start up packages, including revision of existing materials
Global Platform and People4change operational Secretariat tasks
- Take lead on the PMEL process related to the Global Platforms and ensure a strong and well developed PMEL system that allows the collection of information across the network, in close cooperation with relevant staff across the international cluster
- Support the relevant partners directly on PMEL tasks related to P4C and GP implementation
- Validate and gather the P4C and GP annual reporting, in close coordination with relevant Programme Managers
- CMS tasks of the P4C and GP secretariat
- Gather experiences, document stories and ensure reporting /collection of stories/cases across GP and P4C including the Ignite fund
- Support collegues on development of PMEL frameworks for new projects and project management
Need to Have:
- Proven Experience in project management and coordination: Proven ability to manage international projects and collaborate effectively with international teams, ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
- Multicultural Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in intercultural settings
- At least 5 years of experience working in the development sector.
- Solid experience with development of larger development programmes, including facilitating the participation of multiple stakeholders
- More and 5 years of experience with programme- and project cycle management
- Strong financial management skills.
- Structured approach and experience with coordination
- Experience with reporting to institutional donors, such as Danida, EU, UN etc.
- Solid experience with the Rights Based Approach
- Experience working/collaborating with young programming, social movements and/or youth activism and campaigning.
- Excellent communication, coordination as well as networking and facilitation skills
- Good cultural understanding/sensitivity and the ability to build confidence and trust with partners.
- Fluent in English and French
Nice to Have
- Experience with INGO and Humanitarian Programming: Prior experience working in international development or humanitarian projects funded by EU or other international institutions
- Experience and understanding of the Global Platforms network: Prior experience working with youth led methodologies and capacity support initiatives.
- Knowledge of working with programme adaptation in nexus between the Humanitarian and Development approach.
- Thematic knowledge on Climate Justice and Humanitarian Nexus is an advantage,
