Gry & Sif is a unique Danish design company that creates colorful, imaginative, handmade products for the home, sold worldwide. The products are handcrafted in Nepal and made from pure natural wool from New Zealand. In 2009, Gry & Sif received Fair Trade certification from the World Fair Trade Organization. The company's headquarters is located in Ringsted, Denmark. Gry & Sif has peak seasons: Christmas and Easter, but also offers year-round products.
To develop and build the Belgian market and strengthen customer ties, we seek a skilled Account Manager for Gry & Sif. Belgian sales are currently managed from the headquarters in Denmark.
Your role at Gry & Sif:
In your role as Gry & Sif's new Account Manager, you will be responsible for building new business and optimizing the sales of Gry & Sif's products in Belgium, ensuring they are top of mind with the retailers. There are currently some active customers in Belgium, but the business potential is big. The customers include gift shops, flower shops, tourist shops, coffee/tea shops, and selected chains.
Gry & Sif focuses on long-term personal cooperation with their customers, aiming to be perceived as an exciting and trustworthy supplier that ensures good sales for their business. Therefore you will need to be selective regarding which customers to target and to ensure that customers are good ambassadors for Gry & Sif.
In this role, you must expect significant travel throughout Belgium and office days at your home office. You will also participate in relevant European trade fairs 2-6 times a year.
You will be part of a strong team of experienced colleagues who will work closely within the sales and delivery process.
The company is expected to grow further in the coming years, opening opportunities for the right candidate.
New Business Development:
As Gry & Sif's Account Manager, it is key that you have a strong focus and motivation for new business development, including building and developing a strong customer portfolio. The job involves qualifying customers, phone calls, appointment booking, customer visits, proactive canvassing, presenting product samples, making offers, and closing orders. The sales process may vary depending on the individual customer. If there are larger cities that could support more retailers, these should be identified.
Account Management:
Before each season, you will make structured sales efforts to all customers. You will also plan your customer visits geographically to minimize wasted time. Based on the data, there will be ongoing follow-ups with each customer to build relationships and optimize their sales, while giving customers the feeling that they are important to Gry & Sif.
Who is Gry & Sif's new Account Manager in Belgium?
We are looking for a commercial sales profile with a high degree of likability, who is perceived as a trusted advisor rather than just selling to customers. You must be centrally based in Belgium.
It comes naturally for you to open doors, advise, sell, negotiate, as well as create and maintain solid customer relationships.
To be successful in the job, you must be able to articulate Gry & Sif's story and convey your passion for the products and the company mission.
Our expectations for you as a candidate are:
- You have a strong track record with documented success in proactive and key account sales in retail from fields such as design, fashion, lifestyle, etc., or a similar sales process.
- You must have experience communicating with owners and decision-makers and possess a good eye for design and what will work in each business.
- You are independent, structured, and have a data-driven approach to the sales process.
- You are fluent in French/Flemish/German (written and spoken) as well as have strong English skills.
- You can handle a high level of freedom under responsibility.
- You have an outgoing personality, empathy, and a contagious sense of humor with customers and colleagues.
- You are a team player, who is professional and able to work with long-term customer relationships.
