If you are, come and join the Physical Play Invention team in Play Discovery (LEGO Creative Play Lab) to help us create new, great, innovative playing experiences. We are a multidisciplinary team of adventurous play makers, hackers and engineers. We have a thinking by making philosophy, bringing LEGO bricks to life with new play functions and playing experiences.
We are a world class diverse team of Play Experts that play together with everyone and help elevate the Play Experiences across the world, Pioneers ready for any eventuality, observing and inventing the future of prototyping, immersive storytelling, visual sensorial communication methods, collaboration and building that extra powerful (extra/tenth) sense of exploration.

Core responsibilities
- Play experience lead on complex projects, creating new future playing experiences that lead to new platform or scalable opportunities that will continue to be in the LEGO portfolio year on year.
- Expert in 3D tools, preferable NX Unigraphics, creating new LEGO elements. Test/ iterate and make it work in LEGO playable models. Approximately 50-80 % of your time will be spent creating new elements for new playing experiences.
- Lead and collaborate with cross functional external and internal teams, brief prototyping, engineering, digital, electronics, research and interns to create playable prototypes for kids’ test. Approximately 20-50 % of your time will be spent inventing together with team.
- Curious inventors that are fascinated by early-stage observation, comfortable working in unknown territories, experimentation, bringing technology and R&D together with creative concepts and user needs.
- Translate ideas from discovery workshops and play sessions to new playable prototypes for kids’ test and gate meetings, turning insights into directional briefs.
- Pioneers that can spot the magic to create never seen before play experiences for kids by developing world class tools, hacking sheds, magic time-machines; techniques for innovating, rapid prototyping and developing the future of physical play experiences across platforms.
- Capability leader, supporting own team and area, developing and teaching others in play discovery towards our strategy.
- Great at building LEGO sketch models that can be evaluated and tested with kids.
Do you have what it takes?
- Launched several play-centric products in the toy, games, entertainment design or related industries that showcase your talent for inventing new experiences.
- Expert at using 3D tools (preferably NX Unigraphics), able to problem solve and come up with solutions to answer new play experience briefs.
- Ability to facilitate idea sessions with cross-functional teams and understand/translate system in play for LEGO.
- Experience working with different low fidelity prototype tools and equipment.
- Great at building LEGO sketch models that can be evaluated and tested with kids.
- Great at using video to document playing experiences. Ideally skilled in graphics design (for communication) and ability to sketch ideas for briefs or visual process.
- Experience facilitating, testing and collaborating with kids would be ideal but not a prerequisite.
- Self-driven entrepreneurial approach to your work, walk the talk.
- Experience operating electronics production machines (CNC milling, circuit printing) and 3D printing (FDM, photolithography) would be ideal but not a must.
- Ideal (desirable) additional skills: CAD modelling (Fusion, Rhino) and fabrication for prototyping milling, molding and casting, 3D printing), and experience working with smart materials (piezoelectric, shape memory alloys, electroactive polymers).
