Job Description
We are seeking a Managing Director (MD) to lead our Danish subsidiary and making our company’s innovations available to save and improve lives in Denmark and Iceland. The role entails setting strategic direction, leading the go-to-market model, and organizational transformation to ensure continued business growth. With a strong focus on commercial opportunities, customer engagement, and people leadership you will leverage data and analytics effectively for decision-making and execution. Furthermore, you will drive actively an external agenda centered on innovation and patient centricity to shape the future of healthcare in the market.
As the Managing Director of Denmark and Iceland, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop, and coach talented people, with a strong focus on execution excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring compliance and nurturing strong customer and stakeholder relationships. Reporting to the Vice President Nordics and Baltics and serving as a member of the Nordic-Baltic Leadership team, this role offers a unique opportunity to drive positive impact, and to contribute to our company's overall success.
The role is based in Copenhagen, and we welcome applications from Denmark as well as from candidates who are willing to relocate from other countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction by translating global and regional strategy into local priorities in order to maximize business performance and ensure successful execution through resource allocation and organizational adaptation.
- Lead and shape the environment for the optimal use of our medicines to benefit patients and the healthcare system.
- Provide commercial leadership for launch readiness, key customer management, and thought leader engagement.
- Lead P&L, forecasting, expense management, performance monitoring, to meet financial commitments.
- Utilize data, analytics, and agile approaches to drive maximized business outcomes and customer engagement.
- Cultivate a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and effective teamwork focused on value and execution excellence.
- Create an inspiring, inclusive working environment that fosters diversity and psychological safety.
- Attract, coach, develop and retain diverse talent.
Skills and Experience
- Strong business and financial acumen and experience in managing P&L, sales forecasts, and driving sustainable growth.
- Extensive experience in leadership roles in multiple functions and geographies – able to attract, develop, coach, mentor, and retain diverse talents
- Results-driven with a strong drive to lead the local organization and execute strategic initiatives
- Effective influencer with the skill to engage diverse stakeholders
- Firm belief in commercial opportunities and in-person customer engagement, and experimentation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build a high-performing leadership team and organization
- Authentic, inclusive leadership style that fosters a psychologically safe and collaborative culture, knows how to get work done through others by building vision, setting priorities, and providing feedback
- Proven track record in relationship building and influencing key internal and external stakeholders, customers, and scientific leaders
- Demonstrates a growth-oriented mindset, adaptability to new situations, and a continuous search for new opportunities
- Customer-centric mindset with an understanding of various customer groups and their decision-making processes to shape the external environment for long-term competitive advantage
- Quick learner with a receptive mindset towards feedback
- Fluency in English. Danish considered advantageous.
