We are looking for a Project manager preferably with experience from R&D project management, who has the skill and motivation to drive the development of on-engine power hydraulics and fuel injection equipment for our large portfolio of MAN B&W two-stroke engines. Together with a multi-disciplinary team of experts within development and engineering you will make sure that new technology is transformed in to solid and verified design concepts, that is well documented so our engineering departments can apply the technology on our engines.
You will play an important role in:
- Acting as project manager on development projects or as lead on task forces within our core technology area, where your technical knowledge and experience ensures cross-functional coordination and progress.
- Take lead in the transformation of functional requirements in to a sound portfolio of design concepts in close collaboration with colleagues. Ensure a thorough development process where important factors such as risk, cost, reliability and function is taken in to account.
- Identify synergies across our portfolio, ensuring that our development roadmap integrates with the overall technology roadmap of our company and allows for the necessary modularization of design concepts.
- Take responsibility for and drive that the final design concepts are well documented in specifications, guidelines, drawings and diagrams.
- Confidently prepare and present your work to management, colleagues, customers and other stakeholders with a good sense of adaptation to the audience.
- Work primarily in our head office in Copenhagen, however, 10-30 travel days per year typically in either Europe or Asia may occur.
We imagine that you:
- Have professional experience as an engineer, preferably within the areas of mechanical design, fluid systems or engine technology. Could have some years of experience as project manager on technical heavy projects.
- Are a team player and good at building up and maintaining good and trustful professional relationships with many and diverse stakeholders. Are able to identify key points in complex matters and are good at relating them to the context of your peer. Can act in meetings to get your agenda through.
- Are able to see the broader perspectives, without losing the necessary attention to details. You are good at understanding the relevance of a task or problem in the context of an organization and the final product.
- Could have industry experience in the development of hydraulic components/systems or general development experience within the marine business.
- Are highly skilled in clear and concise technical communication, both written and verbally.
- Have a M.Sc,/Ph.D. degree in Engineering or equivalent skills from experience.
Welcome to Hydraulics and Fuel Injection Concepts You will join the Hydraulics and Fuel Injection Concepts department within the functional area Hydraulics and Injection Development of two-stroke R&D. We are responsible for developing fuel injection/admission concepts and design prototypes for fuel equipment, hydraulic components and systems. Together with our colleagues within the functional area, we analyze structural and thermal loads on our components, we run simulations of both injection and combustion and conduct tests on both test rigs and real engines to validate new concepts and designs.
