If this resonates with you, we look forward to welcoming your talent and expertise in Strategic Sourcing Inbound Materials & Services (SSIMS), Sourcing Intelligence & Business Support, where you’ll play a key role in bringing our ambitious strategic vision to life. Apply now!
The position
As Senior Data Scientist, you'll be a crucial player in our transition towards advanced analytics, leveraging your data interpretation and modelling expertise to cater to our specific use cases. Your tasks involve consistent interaction with stakeholders from SSIMS/ Global Strategic Outsourcing & Devices (GSOD), comprehending their operations, and aiding in the progression of business intelligence projects.
With a focus on teamwork, you team up with BI cluster members to ensure your collective projects are ready for digitization, learning and integrating best practices from one another. As part of a team of six, you'll strategize on optimally distributing responsibilities related to existing and upcoming solutions, considering specific skills, interests, development objectives, and overall priorities.
Your key responsibilities entail:
- Engaging in dialogue with BI associates and stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Collaborating closely within and outside the department to brainstorm and develop new solutions and sourcing-related process workflows
- Designing and establishing scalable digital self-service platforms, aiming to simplify accessibility to tools and data for a smoother user experience
- Leveraging BI tools to extract and utilise data from various sources, driving informed decision-making and business growth
- Exploring proactively emerging digital technologies and evaluating their potential impact on our innovation roadmap
As you interact with our less technically oriented business associates, part of your role will be to understand their needs and educate them about the technical capabilities and constraints within our IT ecosystem. Your place within the department will be crucial, as you will be the go-to expert for implementing the best BI solutions in line with their functional requirements.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we believe you:
- Hold an academic background in IT, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Digital Innovation, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field
- Possess experience in digitalisation project development and implementation, coupled with a solid understanding of how data integrates within data models
- Bring expertise in data analysis or analytics tools/programming languages such as Alteryx, SQL, Power Query, Python, Tableau, or Power BI
- Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and present complex, high volumes of data from varying sources
- Showcase fluency in written and spoken English
It would be considered as a strong advantage if you are familiar with Microsoft Power Platform and/or Fabric or have experience with databases or building data pipelines.
On a personal level, you approach challenges with a structured, systematic mindset and a keen eye for details, making even complex data easy to understand. With a natural ability to apply logical reasoning, you thrive on solving problems and building innovative solutions. You enjoy working in a global, informal atmosphere where flexibility and responsibility goes hand in hand, taking pride in helping your colleagues across various functions.
About the department
SSIMS is one of the central sourcing units in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for medium- and long-term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites. We also work with – and support – our colleagues in our sister unit, GSOD.
You will be part of Sourcing Intelligence & Business Support CoE, where we drive cross-unit assessment and projects, represent the unit in different fora outside our area and contribute with value-adding sparring to the category management and sourcing departments in SSIMS/GSOD. The disciplines that we represent and tailor for include sourcing/scenario analytics, financial advisory, market intelligence, quality management and business intelligence.
You will enter a thorough, yet fast-paced and ambitious environment, where we collaborate closely with stakeholders inside and outside the sourcing units. The office is in the Product Supply HQ in Bagsværd (note that in December we will relocate to Taastrup), where 20 talented colleagues in the Sourcing Intelligence & Business Support CoE look forward to welcoming you.
