NKT, one of our global enterprise clients, a key player in the green transition with strong growth across Europe and a global customer base for their products and services, is seeking an experienced VP of Infrastructure & Operations.
The position involves leading, designing, building, and managing the operation of our customer’s global IT infrastructure, covering Global Networks, Data Centers, Cloud Environments, and Client Management to ensure alignment with high-quality and security standards. A critical part of the role will be overseeing a major transformation of the existing infrastructure to enhance scalability, resilience, and flexibility. You will drive infrastructure development that meets the needs of Business Lines and Support Functions, all within allocated budgets.
Responsibilities
As VP of Infrastructure & Operations, you will be accountable for the quality, stability, and operational performance of NKT’s IT infrastructure across multiple key sites, with a specific focus on User- and Onsite Support at 10 main locations. Leading the IT Infrastructure Management Team, you will guide Managers and oversee external contractors to foster a productive, secure, and resilient operational environment.
A critical component of your role will be the development and execution of an Infrastructure & Operations Strategy that delivers a robust, efficient, and scalable infrastructure capable of supporting the company’s rapid growth. This strategy will encompass an Infrastructure Development Roadmap focused on transformative projects and operational advancements.
You will also be responsible for Budget Management, ensuring that infrastructure costs are meticulously planned and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives. In addition, you will lead initiatives to stabilize and optimize infrastructure operations, aiming to achieve NIS-2 compliance and to support ISO 27001 certification efforts if pursued.
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to maintain seamless infrastructure operations, meet Security and Compliance targets, execute on the Infrastructure Development Roadmap, and drive the organizational transformation necessary to support the company’s future growth.
Primary Tasks
- Lead and optimize the IT Infrastructure organization, implementing improvements across processes and maintaining budget alignment.
- Direct Infrastructure Projects and support daily operations to enhance functionality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the IT Leadership Team (including CISO, Software, and Cloud Teams) as well as other stakeholders dependent on infrastructure services.
- Foster a positive Health and Safety environment within the infrastructure team.
- Relevant Master’s degree in IT or a related field.
- Certifications in ITIL, ISO 27001, and/or PRINCE2 (or equivalent) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure planning, building, and operational roles.
- Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, cybersecurity, software, and cloud services.
- Proven track record of managing managers in high-quality infrastructure organizations in complex, international organizations.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written). Proficiency in Danish, Swedish, or German is an advantage but not required.
An estimated 50+ international travel days per year are expected for the position.
