This is the role
As our new Junior Legal Counsel, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our legal team and internal business units across a diverse range of tasks—from contract management and marketing law to intellectual property and compliance. Working closely with our team, you’ll ensure we stay on top of legal challenges, providing crucial support to a variety of departments.
This role is based in either Copenhagen, Amsterdam, or Berlin, and is ideal for someone excited about working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Your main responsibilities in this role:
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Manage contracts from draft to execution, ensuring they support our IP-focused business, from podcast production contracts to audiobook deals and distribution partnerships.
- Legal Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain legal templates and resources to streamline agreements for our label business and content licensing.
- Research & Support: Provide legal research and advice on matters like consumer law, marketing, and the challenges of digital media distribution.
- Problem-Solving: Handle consumer complaints, protect intellectual property, and assist with employment issues related to our streaming platform and label growth.
- Privacy & Compliance: Ensure we comply with data privacy and AI-related regulations in the context of our streaming and content operations.
What we’re looking for:
- A master's degree in law and a strong academic record.
- At least one year of professional experience, preferably within the media industry.
- Detail-oriented legal professional: You have a keen eye for precision, especially when dealing with contracts and IP matters.
- Proactive problem-solver: You anticipate issues and provide practical, business-focused solutions.
- Strong research skills: You’re skilled at diving into legal issues, particularly in privacy and IP law within the streaming and music industries.
- Clear communicator: You're able to simplify complex legal concepts for various teams across the company.
- Adaptable multitasker: You can handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing effectively.
- Team player: You thrive in a collaborative, supportive work culture.
Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!
