We are looking for a Lead or Senior Compliance Officer in Nordea Finance & Transaction Banking Compliance to advise Transaction Banking in managing Compliance risks and team up with a group of highly skilled Compliance Professionals.

About our team
Meet the Nordea Finance & Transaction Banking (NF & TxB) Compliance team. Our role is to help all Nordea Finance companies and Transaction Banking across all our countries to ensure fair treatment of clients and preserve high integrity in the markets the business areas operate in. Our unit is a respected and trusted advisor to business.

Our team consists of seven highly skilled Compliance Professionals across Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. We collaborate closely with colleagues across Group Compliance and Group Risk. NF and TxB Compliance team is a part of the Large Corporates and Institutions & Business Banking Compliance unit where we believe that adhering to laws, rules and regulations is not only our obligation but plays a vital role in strengthening Nordea’s reputation and building trust. What you’ll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Compliance Advisory: Provide Compliance advisory (through advice and training) and constructive challenge (mainly risk assessment, testing, monitoring, and reporting) to Transaction Banking stakeholders (across e.g. cash management, cards, mobile payments and trade finance solutions), collaborating closely with your colleagues
  • Regulatory Expertise: Maintain expertise in key regulatory areas affecting Transaction Banking business, ensuring a strong understanding of business best practices and compliance risk management related to products, processes, and regulatory changes
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Participate in cross-functional programmes and projects (e.g. regulatory implementations) as needed and facilitate Group Compliance activities impacting Transaction Banking business

Who you are
This is the right role for you if you aspire to become a trusted compliance advisor, and you are able to successfully combine your regulatory knowledge with understanding of business and effective compliance risk management. Strong communication skills are key, especially when explaining complex matters to your stakeholders. You have the ability to tailor complex information for various audiences, influence decisions but also have the willingness and ability to listen and understand others’ point of view. You should enjoy building and maintaining relationships, and be comfortable taking ownership of your work while also being a team player. Moreover, we expect that you present a solution-oriented approach and base your advisory on sound analysis and facts.

Your background and skills include:

  • 5+ years of experience within Legal, Risk, Compliance or Audit
  • Master's degree in economics, law or similar
  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations related to the payment services area
  • Proficiency in English

  • Are comfortable communicating in one of the Nordic languages
