The Position
As an Automation Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, nurturing, motivating, coaching, and overseeing the development of individuals within the IT and automation team. Your role will involve developing the organization and providing a strategic vision for the organization while managing day-to-day support during the project phase and later during operations. This position, integral to the development and delivery of new API manufacturing facilities, necessitates your expertise in industrial automation and project management as you lead a team of IT and automation engineers and technicians. Joining the IT, Automation, and Robotics Management team, you will collaborate to outline priorities, objectives, and team guidance. Your proficiency in integrating complex systems and process automation will be pivotal in advising on project decisions, maintaining our standards throughout the project, and ensuring the achievement of project deliverables.

Your specific responsibilities will encompass:

  • Close collaboration with stakeholders, external partners, and other IT and automation departments across the Novo Nordisk network
  • Continued team leadership and management transitioning from project to operations
  • Serving as a role model for the Novo Nordisk Way

Your primary location will be in Kalundborg, in close proximity to the manufacturing sites. Given that many of our collaborative partners operate around Copenhagen, occasional travel to work in those locations is expected.

The project holds considerable strategic significance for Novo Nordisk, enjoying high visibility and support from Senior Management. Simultaneously, you will be integrated into Novo Nordisk's IT organization, which provides support for all major expansion projects as well as operations.

Qualifications
We are looking for a proactive leader who can lead the team both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the following skills and experiences:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in IT, Engineering or another relevant field
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Industrial Automation; either from operations and maintenance, or from project involvement

  • Familiarity with ANSI/ISA standards such as ISA-95 / 88 / 18.2
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements within Pharma or another cGMP regulated industry
  • Proficient communication skills in spoken and written English

Furthermore, you are proactive, solution-oriented, and skilled in knowledge sharing and effective collaboration. As a person, you are energized by taking responsibility for automation and technical leadership. You are structured in your way of working and open to share information with your colleagues, work together as a team, and drive for joint results. You thrive in a multicultural environment and have an open mind-set. You have strong communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and can translate strategy into ambitious goals with clear priorities.
