In this combined role, based at our office in Panama City, you will play a vital role in ensuring both the financial stability and operational compliance of the organization. Reporting to the Manager of Wrist Centralam and the HQ for financial reporting, you will have a significant impact on guiding the company’s financial and administrative functions to support our strategic goals.
As Finance & Admin Manager, you will be responsible for managing the organization’s financial resources and ensuring robust administrative compliance. In the finance capacity, you will oversee funds with a focus on minimizing risk, maintaining an effective control structure and ensuring compliance with tax and auditing requirements. You will lead financial processes such as forecasting, budgeting, cost reduction analysis and operational performance reviews, while managing banking relations in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
In the administrative capacity, you will ensure that all operational permits, certifications and insurance documents are current and accurately documented. You will oversee contracts and maintain communication with legal counsel, authorities and external auditors, as well as manage leases and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards. Additionally, you will oversee payroll and employee documentation, ensuring they adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements.
More specifically, your role as Finance & Admin Manager will involve overseeing management, funds management, budgeting and financial analysis.
Your responsibilities include:
Management:
- Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage outsourced functions effectively.
- Oversee finance department operations, ensuring the organizational structure supports department goals and objectives.
Funds Management:
- Forecast cash flow positions to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Ensure sufficient funds are available for ongoing operations and capital investments.
- Maintain strong banking relationships.
Budgeting:
- Lead the preparation of the company’s budget.
- Analyze and report budget variances to management, providing insights into underlying causes.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct ongoing cost reduction analyses across the organization.
- Monitor competitor performance and report relevant findings to management.
- Perform benchmarking studies to identify potential areas for operational improvement.
- Interpret financial results and recommend actions for improvement.
- Compile and report key business metrics to management.
- Provide additional analyses and reports upon request.
Additional Accountabilities:
- Oversee credit extension to customers and recommend updates to the corporate credit policy as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Preferably, you have an educational background within finance or accounting or equivalent business experience.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
Moreover, we expect you to have the following qualifications:
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in financial and administrative management within Panama, preferably in a company that reports to an external head office.
- Professional Credentials: Preference will be given to candidates with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, especially in presenting analytical results to management.
- Personal Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent abilities to analyze and interpret complex information, identify key insights, and maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with electronic spreadsheets and ERP systems.
- Language Skills: Fluent in both Spanish and English.
