The position
As Vice President, CMR you will play a vital role managing our CMR team (Clinical, Medical, Safety, Regulatory and Customer Service), which leads medical, clinical and regulatory efforts in the Danish market for Novo Nordisk’s robust portfolio as well as new products in the pipeline.
You will be a key part in the Danish leadership team, and reporting to the General Manager and Corporate Vice President of the Danish affiliate, you will have five direct reports: Head of Medical Affairs, Clinical Medical Director, Head of the Clinical Development Centre (CDC) Denmark, Head of Regulatory Safety & Customer Service and CMR Business Partner. Furthermore, you will be working closely with our commercial functions in the affiliate and finding strategic solutions and collaborations cross-functionally with an enterprise mindset. There are currently 90 employees in the CMR department.
While passionate about our purpose, your leadership will establish a clear direction for the department, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives for the affiliate. You will delegate responsibilities appropriately to ensure effective team performance and collaborate with the Danish leadership team to achieve ambitious results.
Your role will involve developing people within your area of responsibility, building and maintaining a lean, effective, and sustainable CMR organization. At the same time, focus will be on cultivating and nourishing the right behaviors and culture within the team.
Additionally, ensuring internal alignment with stakeholders in the Novo Nordisk matrix organization will be crucial, as will fostering external scientific partnerships. These partnerships will encompass clinical studies, real-world evidence (RWE), investigator-sponsored studies (ISS), medical education, guidelines, and conferences, all aimed at driving the advancement of scientific knowledge and innovation.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in a global multinational pharmaceutical company.
• Previous affiliate and/or regional/HQ experience.
• 5+ years of management experience, manager of managers ideally.
• 5+ years of medical, clinical, and/or regulatory/safety experience.
• Understanding of product development and value chain at a strategic level.
• A relevant life science degree (MD, MS, MPH, PhD, MSc, BSc).
• Fluency in Danish and English.
• Business and leadership training.
About the business area
The Danish affiliate is responsible for securing access to Novo Nordisk’s products in the Danish market. In addition to the CMR department, the Danish affiliate includes functions such as Commercial Affairs and Strategy, Sales Execution, Customer Engagement ant Commercial Innovation, Market Access, Public Affairs and Communications, Finance and Operations, People and Organization and Legal, Compliance and Quality. The affiliate is located in Ørestad, Copenhagen, Denmark, with a total of 180 employees.
