We are seeking a motivated and meticulous part-time (12h per week) technician to join our international team in maintaining the Tissue Culture (TC) facilities and the Biochemistry/Proteomics laboratory and in providing general laboratory support.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintenance and cleanliness of TC facilities (culturing cells in different conditions for team members, keeping track of reagents, restocking)
  • Collaborating with other team members and technicians to ensure smooth operation of the TC facilities and of the Biochemistry/Proteomics laboratory
  • Assisting in general laboratory tasks, including gel casting, buffer preparation, and restocking (and keeping updated the lists) of lab consumables
  • Participating in samples preparation for biochemical and proteomics experiments.

What we hope you will bring to the role
We imagine that you are currently enrolled in an MSc program, maybe within biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, or similar.

We hope that you have:

  • previous work experience in a laboratory setting, e.g. in GMO class-1 labs or tissue culture labs and biochemistry/proteomics laboratory
  • interest in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
  • knowledge of standard cellular, biochemical and proteomics methods and principles
  • excellent skills in written and spoken English since most of our inquiries and communication are in English.

You are eager to contribute positively to our laboratory environment and to enhance your skills in a hands-on setting. We value your ability to take initiative and work independently, managing your tasks with minimal supervision. Your precision and meticulousness in maintaining the standards and cleanliness of the TC facilities and the Biochemistry/Proteomics laboratory are crucial. It’s also important that you are flexible in planning your working hours and tasks in the laboratory.

Your role will be integral in upholding the operational standards of our laboratory. We believe that your contributions will not only support our ongoing research but also provide you with valuable experience in laboratory management and maintenance.

Salary and terms of employment
Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the OAO-S collective agreement and organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK/State).

The working hours are 12 hours per week and can be arranged flexibly.

The position is from January 1st 2025.

The period of employment is two years.

Place of work is DTU Lyngby Campus, Building 225.
