We are looking for Experienced Telecom Engineers to strengthen our Telecom department in Asker. As a Telecom Engineer, you will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), electrification and other industry projects.
About the position
Aibel's Telecom Engineers design and specifies telecom systems solutions for projects in concept, study and detail phases. You will develop telecom philosophies and design maturity to the required level, as well as secure design solutions for remote operation and diagnostics. This is a role which requires both technical understanding and a multidisciplinary mindset.
Responsibilities and tasks include
Depending on project, tasks will typically include:
- Lead role, responsible for Telecom (possibility in certain projects)
- Define and development of Telecom philosophy, and design solutions for Telecom sub systems including remote operations, maintenance, monitoring, and new technologies
- Follow up telecom packages (PRE), vendors and vendors technical documentation
- Interface to other disciplines, suppliers, other installations, and client
- Develop and complete engineering documents and data registers
- Participate and contribute to relevant test activities and improve and mature working methods
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree or relevant technical education
- Minimum 6 years’ experience from Telecom Engineering and telecom system design activities within greenfield O&G projects on the Norwegian continental shelf, in the Offshore Wind sector, industry or other relevant experience
- Experience and knowledge of telecom system design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNVGL and IEC
- Relevant practical experience may outweigh and compensate for a lack of formal education
- Engineering experience from Study phases, FEED or engineering projects (EPC)
