About the role
You will be joining the Cost Engineering and Risk Management department. This area is responsible for developing a continuous improvement process on strategic issues as well as Cost Engineering and all reporting on these matters to the Project Executive Management. You will become part of a team of highly skilled and experienced colleagues with high engagement and focus on delivering good results.
You’ll be working with the framework at project level supporting management decisions in Novo Nordisk Engineering by providing prudent cost insights and work closely within the project setup. Your expertise will guide the management of project costs from conception to completion. The position involves possible travel to Kalundborg for the purpose of interacting with fellow project members.

How you might spend your days
As a Cost Engineer, you’ll be:
- Collaborating closely with Engineering Management to coordinate and integrate cost inputs with Work Package Owners
- Classifying project costs accurately into predefined categories in collaboration with stakeholders
- Following up on open changes and ensure cost inputs are prepared in a timely manner
- Maintaining a clear segregation of costs to streamline follow-up on funding sources in the project
- Preparing and presenting findings on a weekly basis to the project team as required
- Working in tandem with risk managers to evaluate the impact of project changes on both schedule and budget
- Tagging and tracking Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) on change orders (COs)
- Developing cost bridges to explain cost developments from base scope as required and present to management
- Supporting in benchmarking initiatives and collaborating with Cost Engineers as required

The miles you’ve walked
In all positions there are some things that are needed, and others a bonus. We believe these qualifications are needed for you to do well in this role:
- Holds a relevant academic degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or similar from a technical background)
- Worked as a Project Manager in the past on mid to large sized projects
- You have minimum 3-4 years of experience within Cost and Change Management, typically from an international bio/pharma/construction or any other technical background
- You are fluent in English and can understand Danish
