Head of Asset Reliability
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll ensure the reliability, compliance, and performance of the UK West hub’s offshore wind portfolio. You’ll lead a team of engineers specialising in reliability, SCADA, electrical, mechanical, transmission, and HV systems, with a primary focus on implementing and sustaining Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) practices. Through this, you’ll optimise asset performance, reduce downtime, and uphold strict compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
Welcome to Generation Europe
You’ll be part of UK West Hub where you, together with your colleagues, will provide strategic technical input to the Asset Integrity Management Plan for UK West region assets, taking full engineering responsibility as the ‘technical authority’ for all critical technical issues. As a team, we embrace a proactive culture of safety and innovation, committed to transforming our operations from reactive to preventive and predictive practices as part of our Generation 3.0 initiative.
You’ll play an important role in:
- leading and managing a team of reliability, SCADA, electrical, mechanical, transmission, and HV engineers
- developing and implementing reliability strategies and maintenance plans based on RCM principles
- overseeing the performance and reliability of offshore wind assets, ensuring they meet all operational and safety standards
- championing the RCM approach across the organisation to shift toward preventive and predictive maintenance
- establishing and maintaining RCM and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) techniques to optimise maintenance and spare stock management
- directing FMEA processes to systematically identify and mitigate failure modes, enhancing asset reliability, and minimising downtime.
To succeed in the role, you:
- hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or similar)
- have a strong knowledge of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and experience with multidisciplinary team management
- are skilled in analytical problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management
- work effectively across cross-functional teams, using reliability analysis tools to drive continuous improvement
- ideally, bring certification in reliability engineering, familiarity with SCADA systems, and offshore wind industry standards.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
