Chemical Engineer
Make an impact on sustainability with cutting-edge biocement technology
Do you have a strong background in optimizing chemical processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality? Are you experienced in designing and conducting experiments to evaluate new materials and chemical formulations, and can you translate these findings into tangible improvements in production? Do you know how to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards while managing complex chemical processes, and maintaining high-quality production output? Then you might be the Chemical Engineer we are looking for to Biomason based in Ikast.
Leading chemical processes and improvements
In direct report to the VP of Operations, you will play a crucial role in testing and refining innovative chemical processes developed in the company's US-based lab. While the core research and development of biocement products takes place in the United States, your key responsibility in Denmark will be to implement and test these innovations at scale at Biomason's local production facility in Ikast.
You will conduct experiments on new materials and chemical formulations, analyze test results, and make data-driven recommendations for process optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams – including R&D, production, and quality control – to further develop and adapt the technology for commercial production, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and sustainability in biocement production processes. Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Optimize chemical processes: Focus on refining and improving chemical processes to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Conduct experiments and testing: Lead the design and execution of experiments to evaluate new materials, chemical formulations, and processes, and provide actionable insights for optimization.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with R&D, production, and quality control teams to implement findings from experiments and test results, helping to adapt the technology for mass production.
- Ensure safety and compliance: Conduct risk assessments, such as HACCP analyses, to ensure that all processes adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control protocols.
- Monitor and troubleshoot: Analyze production data to identify and resolve issues such as process deviations, inefficiencies, or product yield challenges, ensuring a smooth production flow.
Analytical chemist with experience in product improvements
The ideal candidate will have a degree in chemical engineering or similar and some years of experience in chemical process optimization and materials testing, preferably in an industrial setting. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and process improvement. Experience in working across teams to implement solutions and a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards are essential. You thrive in environments of change and development while maintaining strong expertise in your professional field.
You are resilient and adept at balancing in-depth focus with execution. In your daily work, you are self-driven, with an analytical and structured approach, and you enjoy being hands-on, conducting practical tests yourself, including production tests on various scales. You navigate confidently in both production and laboratory settings. Fluency in English is required, and a passion for sustainability is a must.
