Background
The Water Desalination Group ( WDG ) is part of Business Unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers and focuses on development and maintenance of the Desalination products. The WDG group serves the Divisions with products and process support for Alfa Laval’s complete range of desalination systems. We As a group we work closely together to support our sales organizations, our project execution organization and production units.
About the job
We offer an interesting job opportunity within the Business Unit GPHE, mainly managing different kinds of projects connected to either Product Management or R&D within the water desalination / freshwater generator product portfolio. We in the Water Desalination Group, develop and maintain freshwater generators and desalination plants for a global Marine and Energy sector. We follow and manage the product from an idea on the blackboard to delivery and together with our service units, the product is followed in its lifespan.
Your role will mainly be as project manager for product- development project together with system- and optimizations project for the product group. Furthermore, you will participate in the daily work in connection with the development, maintenance and improvement of PLM data, configuration, compliance and documentation related to the products. You will contribute to improving the products performance and quality as a team member of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership for internal project teams.
- Interacting with and reporting to Steering Committees, stakeholders, and line managers, as necessary.
- Develop and maintain product and documentation architecture and configuration tools
- Develop and maintain product documentation and databases
- Collect, improve and implement product information and other relevant information on products
- Drive the digital transformation for the product and internal processes
This position is based at our Copenhagen office in Søborg.
Travel commitment expected of approximately 20 - 30 days per year.

What you know
To thrive in this role, you should hold an engineering degree in a relevant field, such as systems design, mechanical, or chemical engineering, along with several years of experience in a related industry. Strong IT skills are essential, and familiarity with tools like calculation software, PLM systems, CAD, Excel, and Word is required. Practical experience with mechanical design is a plus.
Given the international scope of this position, fluency in both written and spoken English is a must.
