The position
As Project Portfolio Manager, you will work across the department to drive the project portfolio and establish best practices for portfolio management, whilst also owning and managing projects from inception to execution. You will deliver high-quality solutions and actively apply strategic targets throughout the project life cycle, from idea to handover.
Some of your key activities include:
- Tracking overall project progress across the wider project portfolio
- Building relationships across cultures, getting commitment from stakeholders
- Establishing and evaluating project benefits during the realisation phase of strategic projects
- Executing strategic transformation projects and collaborating on maturing project best practices within the wider department
- Coordinating cross-functional development of scope, deliverables, and timelines
Your role also involves steering multi-disciplinary project teams through all project phases, offering guidance and motivation.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we imagine you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field
- Possess at least 4 years of proven project management expertise, effectively managing multiple projects and workstreams in a dynamic setting
- Demonstrate good knowledge of different project management methodologies and apply them effortlessly based on project needs
- Bring experience in working within organisations with strong project governance setup but flexible to adapt to the business needs
- Display fluency in both written and spoken English
It would be considered as a strong advantage if you have experience within pharma industry.
As a person, you possess strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable creating and presenting to all levels of the business. You possess excellent problem-solving skills, are motivated, and work well even under pressure. You respect the opinion of others yet can drive a decision through the team. Your time-management skills are excellent, and you can decisively prioritize, triage, and make real-time decisions as well as following up and following through. Finally, you think strategically and anticipate changes that could affect projects.
About the department
You will be a part of the Business Support department that is responsible for driving the strategic development of Sourcing Operations (SoOp) that has the overall responsibility for the incoming supply chain in Novo Nordisk and consists of 600 dedicated employees.
